Blake Griffin--Ex-NBA player?

Well-Known Member
Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin fractured his right hand in a fight with the team’s equipment manager at a restaurant in Toronto and is expected to be out at least four to six weeks, two people with knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports.

Griffin and equipment manager Matias Testi argued at the restaurant before the altercation ensued, according to the people. Testi, who has been close friends with Griffin for years and routinely banters back and forth with the five-time All-Star, was sent back to Los Angeles along with Griffin following the incident. And Griffin, who has been out since Dec. 26 with a torn quadriceps and was nearing his return, now finds himself at the center of what is clearly a serious situation. The NBA and the Clippers are investigating to gain more clarity about the sequence of events.

The Toronto Police tell TMZ Sports they are NOT investigating the reported Blake Griffin restaurant fight that went down during the Clippers’ recent trip to Canada … because no one has filed a report. We spoke with Toronto Police Service media relations officer, Caroline De Kloet, who says Blake’s name is not in their system which means there’s nothing actively underway.

Ben Bolch: Confirmed the equipment staffer involved was Mathias Testi. Was told he has a swollen face but no fractures. Unclear if he will sue.

Same trainer???

It is the second physical altercation involving Griffin in the last 16 months. A West Hollywood man accused Griffin of snatching his cellphone and grabbing him after the man took a picture of Clippers players at the Tao nightclub in Las Vegas last October.

The best line..... The equipment staff member involved in the altercation has not been fired, a team spokesman said.

What should he be fired for? Getting his face in the way of Griffin's fist?

Weird! It was exactly one year ago on January 24th that Griffin grabbed the trainer on the sidelines. January is a bad month for him?

This comment by Doc Rivers irritates me.

"It's frustrating," Rivers said. "You don't want it to happen to anyone and you obviously don't want it to happen during the season or even when the season is not going on. This type of stuff shouldn't happen but it did and it's real life and you have to deal with real life sometimes in our make-believe world."

No Doc, its not real life. In real life Blake Griffin is sitting in a jail in Canada trying to find a lawyer. In real life your employee would now own the company, because he was assaulted by a fellow employee that the company knew had a history of violent and threatening behavior. Doc in real life you just got named in that law suit and you have to wonder if the victim can come after your house and car, and you probably don't have a job once the dust settles. In real life the owner or owners are going to hang you, the middle manager, out to dry on this issue.

You live in a dream land Doc. Don't bother us with your failed attempts of making your world seem like ours.

He punched someone. It's not like he killed a bunch of prostitutes.

And isn't this more of an ongoing banter, if you will, between the two, and not some feud???

So, time to formulate a trade for Blake Griffin?

I know Doc Rivers loves Hayward.

Hayward and Favors for Griffin?

Seems pretty fair. Makes the Clippers much deeper by having a legitimate wing. Favors would make them a lot better defensively.

The Jazz would lose a ton of games with an injured Griffin and no Hayward/Favors.

Jazz get Brandon Ingram in the draft.

Exum/Burke
Hood/Burks
Ingram
Griffin/Lyles
Gobert

Or even better, Favors/Burks/Tons of draft picks for Griffin. Doubt Rivers would take that though.

We're overlooking the fact that the equipment manager's name is Testi.

Obviously, he comes to the table with a bad attitude.

Crap, I meant to make a Testi joke when I first read the article but it slipped my mind.

So what you are saying is you were going to make a joke about testes, but then you realized you didn't have any.
