Blow it up?

DeRozan for Derrick, Rodney and Alec. Toronto starters not jibing.

DeRozan is terrible fit here. High volume mid range scorer...no passing, no defence. Yes he scores, but that's it. He does not make his teammates better.

That might be the case, but if you can get that deal. . . you take it and hope that Snyder can fit DeRozan into the system. DeRozan is a legit, young All Star wing. Worst case scenario is that you’ve upgraded your assets for a bigger move down the road. Don’t see any way the Raptors blow it up that bad.

DeRozan avg. approximately 23 pts, 4.5 REB, 4 AST over the last 5 years. Hardly ever injured. But can't shoot a 3. And we need scoring more than defense.

I’m almost certain that Snyder would coach him in a similar fashion as Rubio. Hopefully, he’d improve from downtown like Ricky has (so far) and becomes an elite offensive player if the Jazz went that way. Regardless. . . he’s an upgrade over Hood at the 2. GM’s should always be looking for opportunities to upgrade their team. Emotions and attachment can’t be an overriding factor in these types of moves.

He does not stretch the floor. He needs room to operate in the mid range and paint where we have Rudy. If we are building around Rudy we need a wing who can take at least 5-7 3s a game and make some as well. DeRozan will not change, he has great work ethic but too much of an ego to ever become solid team player. He shot Raptors out of the games so many times, plus he is absolutely pathetic in playoffs.

here is a fun stat sheet:

Seriously, I have been watching Raptors a lot since in Canada their games are on TV all the time so they kind of became my second favorite team. I would really hate DeRozan on the Jazz.

Interesting that both he and Lowry are so bad. Maybe they just don't work together and that is magnified in the playoffs. But DeRozan is a bad dude. He averaged 27 PTS last season.

Yeah, I haven't watched him too much but when I have he seemed like a stud.

If there is a trade to be made with the Cavs, it will not happen until after the date that newly signed free agents are allowed to be moved (December 15th?). At that point, the Jazz can ship out Thabo Sefolosha. The Cavs would want Thabo because he is on a cheap deal, he provides wing and guard defense, and his contract has an option so they can cut him next year if LeBron leaves.

Those are exactly the reasons why Jazz would not ship Thabo anywhere. He is probably the best return per investment player right now ( Not counting Mitchell on rookie deal) and you want to ship him?

Jerebko I can see in a trade simply because his salary is right in that $5 million range, but hell no on Thabo. Guy has been fantastic in the rotation. He’s going to be our best wing stopper in the playoffs. Loving the defensive potential of Gobert, Udoh, Thabo, Jingles, Mitchell and Rubio in the playoffs.

Watched a few of their games last year, was taken about at the amount of usage he had as well as how much was one on one play resulting in 12 ft shots. Would hate that sort of player
