Bogut to Jazz talks have "opened up"

My opinion i guess. Kanter just seems like he's still a big kid, which doesn't scream 'leader'. One nice thing about getting Bogut is that with his injury problem, he will likely only get 25 min per game which will still give Kanter plenty of time on the floor.

realize that Bogut has started his entire career, i doubt he comes off the bench here.

So only mature and leader players are ready to start? I don't get it. He was our most improved player, imo and just needs needs starter minutes to prove who he is. According to your post, Dwight Howard is not ready, too.

There is not one reason to go after Bogut. I'd rather sign three FA's for the money he gets.

I don't want to see Bogut stealing 25-30 minutes. Just get two bigs and play them each for 15 minutes off the bench.

Kanter and Favors have to start. Period.

Welcome Fans to your 2013-14 starting lineup

Mo Williams
Randy Foye
Gordon Hayward
Paul Millsap
Andrew Bogut

Only way I'm ok with the Aussie joining us is if we get a 1st rounder to go with him (And give up Marvin) OR get Barnes as it has been said.

I said it last night and I will say it again the jazz are calling the shot here if the warriors want Howard that bad we will get other assets or picks included if patience is used

I doubt it. I think the Lakers are willing to do a S&T for the same price - i.e. demanding the W's include either Barnes or Thompson. But that's ok with me. There will be other opportunities available at the deadline. Picks in the late 20's can be bought just like we did this year. Why pay $14M (Bogut's salary) and tie up valuable cap space when we can buy a late first for $3M?

I would dare say that Kanter outworked every player on the Jazz roster last offseason, He physically changed his body in impressive fashion in a matter of months. I think players took notice and he became a very popular player in the locker room. Sure, he's young and he's got a lot to learn, but keeping a locker room fun is actually a mark of a great leader imo

Rumor now is Warriors are not shopping Bogut. I think that's because he has a lot of takers and they don't need to (anymore)

Sounds like it may not happen.

Bogut can start, Kanter isn't ready anyway. I think Kanter's attitude is more akin to a sixth man than a starting leader anyway. Maybe as he matures he can become more of a leader and can start.

Guess what - that whole "They're not ready" attitude is kind of stunting their growth and the overall progression of the Jazz.

Not sure how it works but wouldn't it be hard with a sign in trade, with the new cap rules in place, I thought it would make it harder for teams above the cap to do sign in trades.

^^^That tweet doesn't even make sense. They're not shopping him because he has a lot of takers? Just the opposite...if he had a lot of takers, then they could have a bidding war. If GS has decided NOT to shop Bogut, it's because Howard has decided NOT to sign with GS and they need to keep their center. They'll go after Iggy, but good luck to them on trying to dump the contracts of Biedrins and Jefferson. That kind of garbage can't even be dumped in the Hudson river anymore.

Teams above the apron ($4mm above the tax line, not the cap) can't receive players in Sign-and-Trades. Golden State should be fine with Carl Landry opting out of his contract (this assumes the luxury tax line is between 70 and 71 million).

Well geez, if Kanter is our great leader then screw bringing in Bogut, because he WILL start if he comes.

You're the only one talking about leadership, and you're certainly the only person that thinks that leadership is of singular importance to starting (?) a basketball game.

I think he was just speculating, but I just posted it because it said the rumor out there is they are not going to trade Bogut after all.

To me nothing screams leader like 23 points and 22 points in an NBA game you started.

CJ Miles dropped 40 points one night in a Jazz uni. Jefferson scored 40 this season. Neither were leaders. Let's see if Kanter can bring it every night. I'd be happy to see Enes average 14-16 pts. with 8-10 rebounds in 30 mins.

No one on this team has the motor and energy level of Kanter. Just Carroll comes in my mind. Kanter cares about winning, plays very aggressive on the boards and looks like a beast. He is a tough player. Once he steps on the floor, he is a bull and wants to kill. He is not that funny guy anymore...

I say if he gets 30+ minutes, he will be in some All-Star discussions. He will make some noise and have a breakout season if Corbin finally lets him out of the cage.

lets have nothing to do with the GSW unless barnes is involved, who would have been ours anyway if they didnt tank themselves to hell that year./

1 andrew bogut equates to 1 utah jazz starter not named kanter or favors
