Booing Deron is riduculous

Really petty, mostly classless, and generally ill-informed. But that's being a Jazz fan.

Deron would have stayed had Utah kept a competitive team in tact and changed the offense Utah had run for the past 50 years! He loved Utah and just wanted to compete for a title. Check out his comments after the game Saturday night:

"It's getting better," Williams said of the crowd. "Maybe next year I'll get some boos, maybe a couple of cheers. It's good; no animosity. I don't have anything bad to say about the fans. They're going to react and think what they want to think. I can't really change that, but I've just got a lot of love for them."

Yeah, right. Utah did everything they could to remain competitive. Boozer left, Utah brought in another 20/10 guy in Big Al. Deron was even asked about FA's during his first several years in Utah. KOC and Greg had several meetings with Deron and/or his agent asking for him to make a commitment. I don't think there was ever a doubt the Jazz would have paid Deron the MAX. All he had to do was revela his intent. And when he remained noncommital, the Jazz did what they had to do: got value for him rather than taking a huge risk that he would leave anyway.

I'll give Deron credit for one thing: he didn't make his impending free agency a circus a la Lebron, CP3, Carmelo and Howard. But to suggest he wanted to stay is ridiculous.

I boo solely because people bitch about the booing. It fueled me when Fisher would come to town and it fuels me when Williams comes to town. I mean, really, it's just a little booing. If Williams' delicate little mind can't handle it, he should go sell lemonade under some freeway overpass.
