Boozer's parting message to Sloan

"Boozer also promised to keep Jazz coach Jerry Sloan with him in spirit until he retires from basketball. "I look at him as always going to be my coach," Boozer said. "I learned so much from him. I grew up a lot in Utah under him and the whole coaching staff. It was a great family, great organization and I was proud to be a part of it for so many years."

In response to Boozer's kind words, Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said: "I'm just happy that loser is finally out of here."

OK, OK, I kinda just made that last sentence clean up, but, still....

Sloan sure wanted Booz back though, didn't he?

"Sure, I'm hoping without a doubt,'' Sloan said in an interview with FanHouse at the Air Tran Orlando Pro Summer League on Monday about wanting Boozer back. "We're not as good of a team without him. And he helped us a great deal. It's hard to get good players.'' ... "It would be tougher, of course,'' Sloan said of if Boozer departed. "Any time you lose a good player and you replace him, it's then harder to replace the guy you replaced him with. You go to the third option, which is not as good as your second option in most cases.''

For now, it's out of Sloan's hands whether Boozer returns. But the coach has let it be known how he feels about his power forward.

Deep down sloan hates boozer..He wont air dirty laundry in the press cuz he is old school but trust me jerry thinks boozer is a sissy

Sloan thinks that Boozer is more then a sissy, he also thinks Boozer is two face, but being old school and a man with principles he won't throw him under the bus.

I would think that Boozer making direct comments about Sloan would be of more interest here at Jazzfanz and then I realized that nobody cares because they weren't negative comments. If Booz had anything even remotely negative to say about Sloan, all of the Anti-Jerrys would have flooded this thread talking about how this is further proof that Sloan is running off players and ruining this team.

Truth is, one of the biggest stars on the team obviously has a lot of love for Jerry. Reading what Booz had to say made me feel pretty good in regards to how Sloan is able to reach players that are far removed from his generation. I know DWill hated Sloan during his rookie year but hopefully that has turned around. If Jerry is around when it comes time for DWill to either decide to leave Utah or stay here long term, we can only hope he feels the same way Boozer does about the old man.

I think Deron has made it clear on many occasions that, although he was pissed off some his first year, he really likes playin for Sloan now. He has even intimated that he would be more inclined to re-up with the Jazz if Sloan is coachin than if he aint (unless he really likes the new coach, mebbe).

But you're right. The haters not only hate Sloan, they will tend to hate anybuddy who doesn't hate Sloan, and generally complain like crazy if anyone posts anything positive about Sloan--even when the positive comments are made by third persons like Dwayne Wade, Phil Jackson, former players, or other informed people.

well seeing that's he's going to be playing under Jerry Sloan's retired #4 jersey every home game for the foreseeable future, of course Jerry's gonna be with him in spirit!
