Boris Diaw Traded To Jazz (news, not just proposed trade)

With Bolomboy we simply dont sign him this year and he will remain Jazz property. Then when Pleiss or Withey is gone that will offer a spot for him next year if we want him.

They did the same with Hanlan. Probably Bolomboy will play overseas as well.

Raja Bell ~$3M
Grant Jerrett $1M
Diante Garrett, $0.8M

True, we did cut Bell, but that was because he and Corbin where going at it.

You sure Garrett was guaranteed? I thought he was a partial guarnatee player.

I do remember cutting Jerrett during his guarantee year.

I'm more excited about getting Diaw than I am Johnson or Hill. Gotta love a sweet passing big man. Favors and Gobert should both be doing a happy dance, Diaw will be setting them up better than any of our points did last season.

I mean Pleiss, sorry. I think a 5 will stretch the floor better than a 4, plus he can't be hacked-a-Pleiss'd.

I know Tibor is supposed to be a great guy but he sucks at basketball. He is nowhere near as good as Withey. And to be honest, I would take Bolomboy over Pleiss because he at least has the potential to develop. Tibor doesn't. He's going to be 27 in November, he's slow both afoot and in his reflexes and weak for a guy his size.

Hill
Hood
Hayward
Favors
Gobert

Exum
Burks
Joe Johnson
Lyles
Diaw

Neto
Mack
Ingles
Withey

That is 14 contracts so the last spot is between Bolomboy, Chris Johnson or Pleiss. Who should we keep? Or do we trade Neto or Mack for a future asset?

Maybe Bolomboy
Reminds me of Chris Humphries
Great athlete no skills
But Humphries is still in the league somehow

Hump was Big 10 Player of the Year wasn't he? He was hardly "without skills"...

Hill
Hood
Hayward
Favors
Gobert

Exum
Burks
Joe Johnson
Lyles
Diaw

Exum,Burks,Johnson,Lyles ,Diaw might be better offensive team than Hill led Hood,Hayward,Favors,Gobert team....The passing/ball movement looks alot better with Exum/Lyles and Diaw.....I'd definitely take Exum/Burks combo over GHill/Hood

Hump was terrible his first two years with Jazz and they could not get rid of him fast enough

that's not an answer to my question. And, for the record, you can play terribly and still have "skills". Thanks for the re-cap of history, doe.

My favorite Diaw play is when he comes up as a trailer and sneakily BLOWS by people or gets deep positioning into the paint on a hesitation

Meh

Probably a good locker room guy. Good experience. Adds a lil bit more depth.

But at his state of his career, I'm not sure if he's really going to make any difference in the win/loss total.

I saw him in a number of games this year and he looked to me to be done.

So not a bad trade, we didn't lose anything. But I remain doubtful that we'll see much of a reward.
