What's new

Boston Marathon explosions......

They just surrounded the SUV (I guess it's a Honda) but no one was inside. Officials are afraid that there's a bomb in the SUV...

Where is this 19 year old? He can't be too far away.

This reminds me of a Batman movie. Wave after wave of cop cars, SWAT teams, and armored vehicles. My goodness. No way this kid escapes this manhunt... Alive...

So they were born in Russia and fled to Kazakhstan?

So I'm guessing the US needed a reason to now invade either Russia or Kazakhstan?

We'll take over Russia so the neocons have someplace to do nation building. Right, Thriller?

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Damn it, this is taking forever. I can't think of another case which had so many false leads! A few days ago we had someone "arrested." Last night, we had someone "arrested." Now we had the guy "surrounded" but it seems like it was merely the car he was driving.

This is like Dark Knight. This guy is the joker and this never seems to end.

That's what I hate. The cops are looking to put this kid down like a rabid dog. I'm sure that suits a good chunk of people just fine. But I think it is disgusting and I think it is at our (societies) expense much more than it is the perpetrator. I want to have this specimen in custody and add whatever possible to our understanding of what causes people to do things like this. We gain nothing from gunning him down in the street.

Besides that, if every time there's a public enemy running around we give the police a pass to kill them on contact it creates a situation in which someone can be misrepresented in the media and will never have an opportunity to defend their self.

Well they have to drag this along for the news ratings of course.
We got him!...... oh wait.
Now we got them! Oh wait.... people are still watching CNN.
Cue the blue screen of a SWAT team surrounding an unarmed individuals vehicle, but just make sure the guy has a hoodie on and isn't white.

There is a system of "false leads" that are perpetuated from law enforcement in order to flush out suspects, leads, etc. Don't be surprised if the majority of this "run around" is staged.

I feel for the uncle.... He's being interviewed right now.... The media is out for blood.... He's doing his best. I feel for him.

Capture him if you can but do not hesitate to put him down if needed. I want answers but not at the expense of anyone elses life.

I don't think any of us are surprised at this.
As the whole bombing seems to be just as staged as the last school shooting and the Batman shooting.

I agree, and it does sound like these guys intended to go down in a blaze of glory. There isn't much police can do about that except try to protect themselves, their fellow officers and the public. But there are cases where I think they opt for the lethal approach over one where they incapacitate the suspect.

I wonder if the uncle is doing as good an acting job as this guy did after the Sandy Hook Shooting.

I don't want to speak for him, but I don't think that's where he was going with that.

I'd say it is a safe bet to say that has and will happen again.

Yeah it is a good storyline. So I don't blame them for using it over and over again.
Perpetrator goes out in a blaze of glory, and the good ole boys can look like heros by destroying more scary terrorists.

I do not think all officers have that intention. I think their intentions are as varied as the members of this board.

Looking at all these pictures of swat teams makes me feel like I'm watching The Dark Knight all over again. Insane that this is happening in real life.
