Boston to make huge push for Hayward

And this is a surprise? candrew told you this two years ago.

He's been wanted in Boston ever since that double block at the rim when 50,000 Southies simultaneously creamed their jeans

Listen to that crowd - they started fitting him for a Celtic Jersey that night.

The Jazz FO should leak bogus information to the media saying that they will match whatever offer Hayward gets and have no problem giving him a max deal. This does one of two things:

1) Ensures any team truly interested in Hayward will have to make a huge offer. If someone else wants him, make them pay through their nose.

2) Scares away teams from giving Hayward an offer, Jazz low ball him and re-sign him on a sweet deal.

Simmons is a big Celtics fan, so I think there is some wishful thinking and/or inner fanboy talking

Rondo and 1st rounder..

We send Burke and Hayward.

what a terrible trade.

What the eff is Utah going to do with a hobbling high paid, bad attitude Rondo, that will skip town soon as the contract is up (after next year)? I wouldn't even trade Burke straight up for him. Rookie deals are worth a ton in the NBA. Especially for a team that CANT attract championship worthy talent. Besides that, it doesn't fit the direction of the team. We arent ready to contend right now and when Favors is ready, Rondo probably wont be.

I think at this point I would rather have Burke than Rondo, and I am a Rondo fan. Not sure I would even do that one as a straight up trade. Maybe if we were guaranteed to get one of the big 4 in the draft (Randle, Embiid, Wiggins, Parker), but even then not too sure.

But I do have my concerns with Burke running alongside a potential super-star. One thing Burke has shown is he is a shoot-first point who doesn't really do all that much to make everyone around him better. Really with him on the floor he just takes pressure of Hayward as the only ball-handler/play-maker, which makes Hayward better, and then Hayward makes everyone else better.

Hes a scoring point guard but Im not so sure he is shoot first. He doesn't seem like a chucker to me. He may turn into one, but I see a guy who is looking to assist the ball often.

those saying we should send Hayward packing for a 2014 pick are idiots. Celtics pick won't be good, and there will be no package deals to move up for a better player in this draft. The player that would be picked in Boston's range once they have Hayward would not be anywhere near as good as he is. Hayward is a legit player. I believe he is a true #2 guy, and as the rest of the team gets better and we get our true #1, this will be evident.

Hayward isn't getting max, and we can easily afford him at almost any price the market will dictate with the way our books are for the enxt few years. We keep him.

True, but that is a fine line. I have seen flashes of the chucker there, although mostly he plays with decent control. He just doesn't seem to have that something that makes the guys around him better. His own position is far upgraded when he is in the game, but everyone else is still just filling their own spot, not much gained rubbing shoulders with Burke, other than Hayward who I would argue plays much better alongside Burke, although I am sure someone with stats could probably prove that anecdotal evidence wrong.

I would at least entertain a trade for Hayward. Im thinking something like two unprotected firsts. I dont know if he is worth that, but thats about the least I could except. All the other factors in the trade would push the trade one way or the other.

I dont think Hayward is gonna get a max offer. So he could be a really nice piece to a championship team, a very capable player on both ends not getting over paid. Thats if he doesn't get over paid. We cant have 5 starting max players so we have to have some players to fill around a couple max players. Hayward can and probably will be that guy. That in itself has value. And that goes into to the decision of whether or not he should be traded.

Lets hope Hayward doesn't get too big an offer. It could really screw things up.

I posted my 'trade' totally tongue-in-cheek... I hope that^ is the same.

37 pts 11 reb and 7 ast w/ a steal and a block -- you don't trade hat for a mid first round draft pick

This. But I'm eagerly awaiting his follow up performance of 12pts, 4 boards, 3 ast on 3-14 shooting. His inconsistency is obviously his most glaring liability.

Sorry, didn't see the "wink wink" on the interwebs.
