Break in Susan Powell Case

It's being reported that there has been a break in the Susan Powell case. West Valley detectives are in the Ely, NV area now looking into a credible lead. Is Josh finally going bye-bye?

So did Josh finally admit that he killed her and buried here in the west desert?

I understand that our judicial system is pretty darn good. So I'm not going to rip on that.

But how stupid does Josh think we are?

So his wife is going to get a divorce... She all of a sudden disappears. The night she disappears, Josh takes the kids out late that night to go "camping." I remember that night, it was near zero degrees. Who the hell would do that? ESpecially with kids? And who the hell camps out in the west desert? If you're going to camp out, it's going to be in the mountains or down south. Josh then cannot remember where they camped out. The car (perhaps it was even rented, I believe), is found to have hundreds of miles put on it... Josh runs away never to actually help in the finding of his wife... And Josh never quite explains the giant wet spot that spelled like sanitizer on their carpet in their house. Because, you know, blood probably hadn't been cleaned, right?

Ummm yeah... This dude's innocent.

Yeah, I remember that night, too. There was a pretty good snow storm going on. The kind of weather where you ask yourself if you want to drive a 1/2 mile to the grocery store and try to load unload groceries. Meanwhile, this guy is taking his very young children on a midnight camping trip to test his shiny new generator or something. It is beyond obvious he's lying.

Boy, are all of you guys going to feel like jackasses, if you don't already. I'm with you, he sure seems guilty, but think about it; with all of the technology that exists today, with the brilliant scientists and lab workers that work for the FBI, and with their endless supply of money, you'd think that they'd be able to break this case -- since, you know, it's so clear and obvious.

Everyone is quick to call Josh an idiot and a moron, but if it turns out that he IS guilty, he sure pulled the wool over the highest trained detectives on the planet for a loooong time. Not bad for a moron.

I'd still put money on him being innocent, if anyone cares.

2 words for you. Casey Anthony.

The FBI lab workers aren't always the sharpest knives in the drawer. And it sometimes takes forever to get DNA tests done. I just read something about a positive match coming back FOUR years after a particular sample was submitted. Unbelievable that there's that kind of backlog in certain cases. I don't think it's a case of pulling the wool over the eyes of highly trained detectives. It's a case of not having a body. It's hard enough to convict WITH a corpse (e.g. teh Anthony case). The stupid american jurors want everything wrapped up a la an episode of CSI. It's "beyond a REASONABLE doubt," but you always have a juror or two that will only vote guilty if something is beyond ALL doubt.

I'm not saying I absolutely know he killed his wife, but I do call BS on his midnight winter camping expedition with young kids. Do you think there is any chance he just up and decided to take the kids camping like that? If I remember correctly the police entered his home the next day because both he and his wife were expected at work and didn't show, nor were the kids dropped off at day care. So not only was the timing beyond bizarre as far as the camping trip was concerned, he did this on work night. So I'm pretty comfortable saying that the camping trip story is not 100% true.

I read a non-fiction book with a bunch of stories from lab tech how they caught guys. If some died on that carpet and then cleaned it up. The blood would have seeped under the carpet into whatever is below that. If it was that simple they would have just cut up the carpet and tested the crawl space or concrete. Whatever is below that.

The camping trip does seem odd but his friends said he would do that all the time. Plus, all his family is in WA. What if they got into an argument and she left and he didn't want to be there when she got back but didn't have a families place to crash at or maybe he just left to get away from her. Once he left, she decided to up and leave with another man or disappear. I'm not saying that's what happened. This case to say the least has been very interesting.

Compelling and rich.

His story seems suspicious, but we get what the media feeds us. After the Gage Wayment tragedy about 10 years ago and the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping, I decided to not jump to conclusions regarding a situation.

Holy crap. I just said the same thing to a coworker. lol

People are saying how he hasn't helped. Who says he hasn't? The media? That's credible as we all know. I'm sure the police won't tell the media every single word he told them. What if he really is innocent and has given police all the information he has? I watched a show on TV about a guy who was getting drilled by detectives to admit he murdered this girl when in fact he didn't and there was no evidence. They used all sorts of mind tricks on him and held him and interviewed him straight for more than 2 days. His mind finally broke down and he admitted to something he didn't do just so the suffering of all the questions would stop. A few years later, DNA tests proved he didn't commit the crime. Pretty crazy stuff. I wouldn't want to be in that situation.

This press conference is awesome. lol. All I'm hearing is, "We can't comment on that."

Is KOC running the presser?

No joke. WVC PD just wanting some attention. "Hey look at us!"

Honestly, do people expect that PD to find anything? They have a hard enough time just recovering a stolen car.

I love how people say, "She would never leave her kids. They were her life." Most people who leave their kids, family say, "I never thought I'd see him/her leave their kids. Those kids were their life!" If she indeed disappeared with another man, she should give lessons on how to up and do that. Could make a lot of money.
