Break out, or fluke...

I think Favors hip is still bothering him. You could tell he was a lot less active in this game compared to the Indiana game.

I sure hope so. Recently I've got the sense that he just doesn't show up to play against lesser competition.

I notice he always plays hard against stars, or teams with great records, but is very passive against those he thinks he's better than.

Fluke.

Enes is the reason Millsap is no longer here, so screw him. I miss Millsap's winning attitude and hard work ethic. Enes doesn't have any of the intangibles Sap has.

I think it was just a bummer of a matchup for Favors. There weren't any dominate low-post bigs for him to showcase his stellar D in the paint and he's not as able to take advantage of weak low-post defenders like Kanter can. I'm sure watching film before this meeting the Jazz were positive Kanter would have a good game.

They tried some Favors isos early on and they weren't all that great.

Not trying to hate on Kanter, and I'm sure some of it is coaching, but Favors is the better player and brings more to the team and is more consistent.

But that's my opinion.

Is someone argueing the opposite?
I think most people believe that favors is the better all around player and he should be. Favors played college ball, probably played more basketball against better players while growing up, is older, and has had more opportunity/experience in the pros.

I dont think this thread is about who is better out of favors and kanter right now.
I think the thread was asking if kanter is really a good scorer and rebounder like he showed last night, or was it a fluke?
I think he is a good scorer and rebounder at a very young age playing for a crummy team with a crummy coach and a crummy system.

sap wishes he could put up 20 and 10 in the nba when he was 21 years old.

Enes is not a finished product people. 21 years old is not the ceiling for nba improvement... i think lots of players 21 and under have improved before so i wouldn't be unprecidented for enes to improve as well.

I never said he wouldn't get better. He won't ever be as good as Al Jefferson though.

Kanter and Favors have to play together and build chemistry. Corbin must establish the offensive hierarchy when the Core5 is on the court.

If Kanter improves a bit his passing the offense has to turn around him. Favors has to accept his reduced offensive role.

Favors has the more consistent minutes, but he is far from consistent. Just check his game log:
https://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/4257/derrick-favors

Again, not a Favors hater.

Sorry, missed this post for some reason. Offense is one side of the game. Again. Favors has the more well rounded game, and always has, and like Kanter will continue to improve in all area's of the game of basketball. Kanter is primarily an offensive player. If he's off offensively he's pretty much dead wait. Hopefully he improves defensively.

Never be as good as Al Jefferson playing Jefferson-style basketball, but if he can develop his all-around game he will eventually be better than him. Has been making strides towards that lately.

Hopefully more workouts with Karl Malone in the offseason will help improve his game.

For those curious:

Kanter has had the following this year

>= 20 pt games: 11
>= 25 pt games: 4
>= 10 reb games: 14
>= 20pt, 10 reb games: 7
>= 50% fg games: 22

interpret as you may

how did other players fair offensivly who had their minutes guaranteed eg favors hayward and not to mention the guy he is backing up marvin williams

He's slow footed and can't jump just like Al. I can appreciate you holding out hope that he will develope into something else, but I'm not holding my breath for what seems impossible to me.
