Breaking Bad (thread will have *spoilers*)

Spoiler Alert!!!!

So THAT'S why the finale was called "Face Off".

Now that Gus, Hector, and the other henchman are dead and the lab is blown to bits, where do they go now? With one more season, where do they take it?

Ok, that scene where Gus walks out of the explosion like he go out unscathed and then seeing the left side of his body all mangled was one of the best scenes in television that I've ever seen. Fan-f'ing-tastic.

I have no idea where it will go. Maybe Mike will look for revenge, or the cartels, or it will all be a cat and mouse game with Hank.

And I must say, that this show has some of the most clever titles I've ever seen. This last one may be the best yet.

what about all the videos of walt and jessy cooking. we saw his laptop being left on 2face (enum i mean gus) his desk.
guess gus his dead will lead to an investigation which they will sooner or later stumble upon the laptop/video(or maybe just a plothole)

also that answers the question who poisoned the boy.
walt but not with risin but with lilly of the valley or whatever it is called.
so i guess the fat guy from the "a-team" took the "risin" cigarette.

The pistol roulette from the previous episode is now explained when it pointed away from Walt and he took notice of where it was pointed. It seemed minor at the time.

From an interview with the show's creator, Vince Gilligan:

Question: By the time the negotiations came down to the wire, it was clear you were either going to continue on AMC or go to another network, but there was a chance when you were writing this episode that it might be the last episode of the show ever. Would you have been comfortable with Walt on the parking deck and then the shot of the White backyard being the end of the series, if it had come to that?

I think I personally would have been, yes. I think an argument could be made that the end of episode 13 of season 4 is, in essence, everything - but one thing, perhaps - that we promised the viewer, or implied to the viewer from day one, which is the idea of taking Mr. Chips and turning him into Scarface. Walt is pretty much as bad as one could imagine at the end of episode 413. There are two big questions left wanting for answers: one is what is the state of Walt's cancer, and the other is what about Hank? Will Hank ever figure out who Walter White truly is? Those would be the only really, for my money, big questions left outstanding. If for some reason a meteor hit the earth or something and then episode 413 was the last episode we were ever gonna do, I would feel pretty good except for those two being the only outstanding questions. However you slice it, I feel fortunate that we've got 16 more. I'm happy about that.

I, too, sort of wondered where there was left to go after this episode, and what the next season was really going to be about. Reading the above, it sounds like the creator feels that Walt's cancer and Hank's investigation are the key unresolved plot points, so I guess that they'll be focusing on those.

My personal favorite is the episode in which Skylar informs Walter what she's been doing with Ted. The episode title is "IFT"

Such a good season finale...I bet Jesse fins out Walt poisned the kid next season and I think the DEA finding out about Walt becomes bigger.

Is cancer ever going to be relevant in the show anymore?

I think the FBI was taking pictures of Walt & Jesse's little meeting in the parking lot.

Season 5 = Walt & Jesse vs the FBI/DEA etc then turns into another Walt vs Jesse

As painful as it is for me to admit this, I really needed to read Dutch's post to figure that one out...that is brilliant!

From the AV Club interview with Gilligan today:

AVC: Are there things from earlier seasons that you’re still waiting or hoping to pay off?

VG: Yeah, definitely. The most coy way I can answer that is that there are several things that I think are still outstanding. I guess one of them that goes without saying is the dramatic engine that started this whole series, which is Walt’s cancer diagnosis. That’s certainly something we have not forgotten about, and that is something we will touch base on in one form or another as we draw to a conclusion in our last 16 episodes. But there are other things as well. Definitely we spend a lot of time looking to the past, and looking to previous episodes in an effort to tell a satisfying story by not leaving many, or any, hopefully, loose ends hanging out.
