Breaking Bad (thread will have *spoilers*)

I'm 6 episodes into season 1, I am enjoying it but its just not taking hold like Mad Men or Walking Dead did. I will give the entire first season a try before I make a real judgement.

Season 1 is the set up. Don't judge it based on that, keep watching until they have the biggest "holy ****" moment in TV history.

I know others have already said essentially the same thing but after season 1 it's the most addicting show I've ever seen. I lost a lot of sleep because of it.

Season 4 was the best. They really could have just had the finale of 4 be the end of the show and I'd have been satisfied. It was that good.

I would disagree with the Dexter rating. Season 4 with Lithgow was amazing.

I actually disagree with the entire Dexter rating...to me its more of The Office. I think season 1 was my least favorite...seasons 2,3,4 were the best...1,5,6 were considerably worst

Also in regards to The Office...season 2 was on par with any other comedy show for best season ever.

For a comedy series, season 4 of Seinfeld is the pinnacle for me.

So, which one I should watch, The Wire or Breaking Bad? I don't have time for both.

I'm having a hard time swallowing the idea that they are going to move their operation from fumigated house to fumigated house. Very silly and over complicated. I'm worried the final season is going to be a bust if they continue with crap like that.

I disagree that it's silly and over complicated, in essence it's an updated version of the mobile lab concept they used in the first couple seasons.

Also, it comes with a volume restriction since the size of their lab equipment is limited. I suspect this is a temporary fix until Walt wants more money. And he always does.

The show gets exceptionally better after season 1...in fact its one of the few shows that is progressively better and better. Unlike Weeds, Dexter, Lost which all peaked in the first couple seasons

For a variety of reasons, I think Season two of Breaking Bad is probably the weakest. As for the Fly episode, I'm pretty sure that's on the short list of canonical "great" episodes of the series.

I got hooked on episode three of Season 1, which had one of the biggest "holy ****" moments of the series. At the time I thought it was the most violent death I'd ever seen on television.

Seasons Four and Five of Friday Night Lights are as good as Season One.

Welcome new user.

I dunno. Should you read War and Peace or Ulysses in your lifetime?

Breaking Bad is (for a variety of reasons) the superior show. The Wire is, at this point, functionally required viewing for those who have any pretension of participating in serious discussion about quality television. It's also very much worth watching, although I'm of the opinion that Season 3 and 4 are the only seasons worthy of the superlative praise heaped on the entire series.

I was also hooked from the beginning but the show definitely morphs from "this is good" to "I can't ****ing wait" by mid-season 2 in my opinion. And yes, that first death was a "holy ****" moment, but they topped it.

I think the beauty of Breaking Bad is that it plays out as one long TV Show season...you tell me season 2 is the weakest but I can't really imagine season 2 because to me all the seasons just blend in.

Last seasons big bang (no-pun intended, or was it?) ended a huge plot that had developed really from the very first episode. This new season finally feels like a new season, everything else before that played out like one big season.

One of the things I'm really happy about is that they are bringing the series to a planned end. It really sucks when either 1) a great show (like Deadwood) gets cancelled with a lot of loose ends or 2) a good show gets progressively more pathetic as they try to squeeze every once of life out of the story-line. We need a conclusive end to this series.

Conclusive endings are for suckers...

Skyler is going to try to kill Walt...my guess on one of the main story lines coming up.

Also, what was with that watch thing at the end?
