What's new

Breaking News : Enes Kanter number 1 on NBADRAFT.NET yeaa hooooo :):):)

Only thing I could find of him online. Point is, I was surprised there was a guy listed at 7'4" at the Eurocamp. I'm not saying he's good, but he's big.

Dont believe he declared for this year's draft. So main thing for him will be to play well enough to get on NBA scout's radar for next year.

Seems kinda funny that on the exact same page here on jazzfanz you see 2 threads.

The first, KANTER HASN'T HELPED HIMSELF AVOIDING WORKOUTS...

And the second, ENES KANTER NUMBER 1 ON NBADRAFT.NET

Soooooo were people expecting him to go zero?

You do realize that there are many people who use the interwebs, right? It is possible that two of those different people had two different opinions.

Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but if those players had reached their vaunted potential they would have been much closer to their NBA comparisons in those links.

All that really tells me is DO NOT draft on potential. Bimbo, for example, should only be picked if he is legitimately the BPA, not just because he has so much potential.

Whaaaattttt? You mean this site isn't a conclusive news source? I'm just hanging around here collecting neg reps from Franklin for no reason? This news sucks.

I think if Kanter went number 1, Minnesota would take Irving and open the bidding war for them. Too many teams will try to get him to mitigate the loss in value of everyone knowing 'Sota will trade him. That would leave Williams to the Jazz.

Cleveland would REALLY have to consider Kanter as a can't miss, because there's a good chance Kanter will be available at #4, anyway.

Or they just think there is very little difference between Irving and Knight. You generally value bigs much higher. They'll still probably get one of the top-2 PG's. Only risk would be Irving goes #2 and then the JAzz take Knight, That would leave them with Kanter/Williams. That's not a bad scenario. Take Irving and then the draft could go (as expected) Williams #2 and Kanter #3, leaving Knight as the BPA at #4, but the Cavs would have already selected Irving.

So is Kanter/Williams or Kanter/Knight better than Irving/Vesely (or Valanciunas)? If I were the Cavs GM and Irving didn't completely blow me away in workouts, I might consider taking Kanter #1 (and I'm not a huge fan of Enes).

Kanter did workout against T Thompson and one of the Morris'. Perhaps he destroyed them and made Cleveland rethink their #1. Doubt it. Probably mostly just the website doing something "controversial" to drive traffic.

Right, because he's just potential and hasn't shown that he can actually play more than a guy that some people think is the #1 pick.

Here is the reasoning why Aran Amith put him at #1. Dependent on a trade.

The Cavs find themselves in a unique situation where their first pick will have a direct impact on the quality of their pick at four. They're in a bit of a pickle with a draft that features a ledge after the fourth pick and a good possibility that taking Irving at 1 will force them to reach on their pick at 4. Which is why they would like to use 4 to move up for 2 and insure that doesn't happen.

They are picking Kanter at 1 (i.e. reaching at 1) becuase, they don't want to reach at 4? And because they want to trade #4 for #2? Brilliant reasoning.

Would you rather have the 1st and 6th best prospects in the draft, or the 2nd and 4th? I guess it all depends on how much of a difference you see between 1 & 2 and 4 & 6.

Not sure if this has been answered.
How come nbadraft.net has taken Jonas V off their mock draft?
Could this be reason they put Kanter to Cavs at #1?
Cavs won't get Jonas V at #4 so they need to take Kanter #1?
