*Breaking News* Kawhi Wants Out

This isn't too far fetched, right?

-2018/19 Celtics:
-Scary Terry, Smart, Brown, Tatum, Bron, Kawhi, Horford etc

With Cleveland getting Hayward and filler and San Antonio getting Kyrie and picks.

Spitballing here!

I love this trade for both teams. Spurs get younger and get off Pau's bad contract. Hayward's a perfect fit. Rozier could start next to Murray. Morris is a good 6th man. Plus a high draft pick from the Kings or Grizzlies.

After Pop's wife dying and this b.s. i'd probably just retire. They are not competing for championships anytime soon.
I would think your wife dying would make you want to work more. Retiring as a widowed old man could be very lonely.

Good point.

If they end up trading Leonard, next-year's Spurs could have a really serious chip on their shoulder which would be kind of awesome. And if they get Hayward, he'd be in on that **** too.

I'm hoping DL can help "facilitate" the trade by dumping Burks as filler and getting the Laker's or Spur's first round pick.

Yeah, I know, wishful thinking.

Maybe not. Lindsey is a Buford disciple and should still be good with him, AFAIK. Utah has assets to help facilitate a trade. I'm kind of expecting Utah to be right in the middle of it for that reason, or at least rumored as such.

These morons are going to ruin whatever marketability Leonard had in trying to increase his marketability. If he goes to a superteam Lakers, he will be overshadowed by louder personalities and their louder games. He's not trying to go to Boston, and if he walks in any scenario, he's leaving tens of millions of dollars on the table. And for what? Maybe some (more) rings if he's lucky? If not, he is trading an unmarred legacy on the best organization in pro-sports to be just another superstar mercenary in an era of them, IF HE IS LUCKY. If he doesn't wind up on a super team, he 100% ****ed himself.

Meanwhile, this is a blow to every non major-market team. Again. I'm so sick of this ****.

To the people that just want to wait out super teams, it will never happen. Superteams have always existed, you just have to be one of them.

If the super team in LA happens....................I'm officially a Warriors fan, and will be hoping that they knock them off.

This garbage is going to eventually ruin the league. There's no reason to have 25/30 teams if this is how things are going to be from now on. Yes the NBA has always had dominant teams, this isn't how they formed though. Its absolute trash that organizations can do everything right, draft right, and be a good competent organizations and then watch their franchise player walk out for a super team or market with an organization that is not those things. I've lost all respect for Kawhi because of this and especially how hes handled it. Gave up on his team, screwing his organization, and just being plain shady.

I love trades but we can't really be involved in getting Kawhi unless he wants us. We could get involved as a 3rd team, but its very unlikely SA would let us have an asset they could get for Kawhi.

This is why we should concentrate on Memphis and #4. That is our best bet to get another star.

Kawhi wants to be in LA. That's known. People are talking about the Lakers, but not as much the Clippers. With Tobias Harris and their draft picks this year they could put together a very attractive offer with Kawhi likely signing an extension. This better not thwart the potential we have with Tobias Harris.

SA is not going to send him to LA unless either of those teams give them everything they want and more. SA isn't going to facilitate a super team in the Western Conference. SA is a more competent organization than that. Kawhi can say he wants to go wherever he wants, the Spurs get to trade him. I imagine they will take the best they can to send him east tbh. If the Spurs don't trade him to LA, he won't be able to sign their next season if Lebron and PG are both there, they wouldn't have the cap space. SA isn't going to straight out facilitate another super team in the west when they can prevent it.

Woj already tweeted that SA probably won't send him to the Lakers. They can get a better deal elsewhere, without helping create another super team in the West.

Sure there are plenty of options for Pop. See Sloan"s marriage.
True, I still find that weird. If you are going to be an old rich guy who remarries a much younger women, you might as well go really young. Get a 30 year old, go for the full 40 year age gap instead of the 20 Sloan did.
