**Breaking** Trey Burke being discussed in Trades!!!!

Ty Lawson for Trey Burke and another Jazz player to close the difference in salaries ...throw in Booker and promote Lyles to gain the experience for next year where he can be more impactful

Without a pick from Houston the Jazz should not even entertain this.

Neither Burke or Booker will probably be in Jazz plans next year with Exum and Lyles needing their playing time.Lawson has the speed to push the Jazz offense and open them up alittle more ,it's worth the gamble

Opening up more time for Lyles would be a great move.

Agree. Jazz do want to free themselves from Pleiss' deal, though.
The biggest motivation for Houston to do this deal AND send a pick our way is that the Rockets could get under the tax line. Booker could replace Pleiss and still get the Rockets out of the tax penalty. I think Utah would push for Pleiss, though. Tibor is not a rotation player; Booker is. And if they're willing to give up on Tibor after just 1/2 season, that speaks volumes. Jazz are the champions of "player development" but apparently feel Pleiss has very little potential.

Tibor has one more year at about $3 million and then only a partial guarantee for the year after. A team could trade a guy with a guaranteed contract in the range of $4/$5 million for him and then cut him before his contract is guaranteed for the year. Jazz can also play it like Toronto did with Novak and kick in a future 2nd round pick somewhere if they need to.

I don't see them pushing hard to get rid of him between now and next trade deadline. No harm in letting him play in Idaho, having him work with the team at P3 in the offseason, letting him play for the German National team and then dealing with him sometime next year.

I would rather keep Trey than trade for Lawson. This season was supposed to be Lawson's reboot--sober, new situation, etc. Houston needed starting PG help and Lawson needed a fresh start. Instead, Houston is having horrible season as a team and Lawson his worst season ever as an individual. Why would the Jazz want this guy and risk clear chemistry issues among a young team?

Big "no thanks" to Lawson. Risk is higher than the reward. I'd be completely fine with getting any of Teague, Hill, or Lin before even thinking about trading for Lawson. Pass

Have you seen Houston play? It's Harden with the ball and 4 guys standing around waiting for him to do something.

There's a very really chance that Lawson is better than Teague.

Imagine if Teague had to play behind Bev and Harden. You're a liar if you think he'd put up the same numbers.

Ty Lawson is interesting. I think it makes sense in a lot of ways. I think our point guard position is strengthened as long as he 'buys in'. If he pulls a Kancer then we can give him the boot. All for a 1/2 year rental of Trey Burks. If we did this, I would want the Jazz to keep Green. I have liked what I have seen so far.

To hell with it.

Do the deal. Jazz gonna get 5th seed no matter what. Maybe we will get out of Pleiss and get another pick.

Go Jazz!

I'm pretty confused by this proposed trade. I know Lawson's an upgrade, but how many more games do we realistically potentially win with him starting? I'd be stunned if he was here beyond the season and we'd lose Burke who has slowly come along. Burke is still a ways behind Lawson, but what do we gain for the season vs. what do we lose? I just don't see a Lawson-led team getting past the first round which we'll likely do with Burke and Pleiss...

No way Lawson starts...

Also Trey Burke's numbers have regressed since his hot start. We take the chance he continues to be meh and has less trade value?

My question, if not asked before, is this: would New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday put us, not only in the playoffs, but move us to the second round? And at what cost? Inquiring minds want to know! Scuttlebutt says he's available!
