Bump stock ban

Sounds like some are saying that for a shooter the bump stocks are a hindrance to accuracy and also make your gun jam and they are meaningless.
Why did someone invent them then?, Why would anyone want to equip one to their gun?, Why would anyone spend money on one?

I’ve never used one, but I imagine it would be fun to stand out in the desert and shoot as many rounds as possible into a dirt hill.

Even if your gun is jamming up all the time? Doesn't sound fun to me. Sounds like if you want to shoot as many rounds as possible then a bump stock would be detrimental to that goal if what I have read in this thread is true.

Pretending to have an automatic weapon is the hypothetical appeal. I don't see it myself, but I've certainly met enough people who seem to enjoy it. Now the yahoos who want to do so will come home with slightly sorer shoulders. I agree with the ban, but it falls into a feel good type of win as far as I can tell. Which is still something as someone said earlier in the thread.

Like I said, I’ve never used one (never even seen one in person), so I don’t know much jamming there is. I’m okay with clearing a few jams, but there is a point at which it’s no longer fun. I guess I’ll never know if using a bump stock hits above or below that line. I’m okay with never knowing, as I obviously never felt the need to find out.
