Leading up to the draft I definatly thought a Shroeder/Norgueira draft was very likely. Definatly more likely that the Jazz getting Trey Burke. So far through the summer lead it looks like that the Atlanta duo is looking a bit better. Though Nogueira and Gobert are playing very similar.

Schroeder has played better than expected but he still struggles with an outside shot, with turnovers and fouling. But overall he looks pretty good. Burke on the other hand played very below expectations.

It will be interesting to follow both duo's over the next few years to see how they pan out. Hopefully for the Jazz sake we will be sitting on top :)

I vote for Schroeder and Gobert, which is funny cause the Jazz could have used the 14th and 21st picks to get them and then could have drafted Neto.

So ideally the Jazz could have ended up with a better draft and saved $ and still have the pick they used for Neto.

I know some people loved the draft. I was excited to see an aggressive Jazz team but unfortunately they faltered with Burke which made them overpay for Gobert and Neto.

Can you add a third option of Schroeder/Gobert? To make things fair you could also add a 4th option of Burke/Bebe.

Well, we go the better looking duo, that's for sure!
Gobert alone tips the draft in our favor, especially when the rules are changed to allow taking the balls off the rim.

Lol.... I was going to come on here and chew someone out for picking the Atl duo, but seeing that it's you, I don't mind much, because I know you never liked Burke, and had him as a second rounder, just like I said Schroeder was a second rounder. We will see whoo was more right.

Orange, I say that if Burke ends the season better then schroeder you rep me for a week straight and the other way around. You game?

Deal. I'll even throw in $500 of Monopoly money.

From Espn Daily Dime:

On Wednesday, the German guard was the best player on the floor during the Hawks' overtime loss to the Blazers, but he shot 4-for-11 from the field. It's the way he pins defenders to his hips, the way he pulls fellow rookie Lucas Nogueira by the waistband during timeouts and his insistence on setting up his teammates that set Schroeder apart. Where others see a need to prove they belong as scorers, Schroeder is building his reputation by filling in the gaps.

Sometimes it is hard to be a Jazz fan.

Except he had more turnovers than assists...........

I actually watched the game. Yes he had TO's but if you watch the game only a few of the turnovers were his fault... dropped passes by teammates not expecting to be open because Dennis Schroeder created an angle by his athleticism that his teammate didn't expect and were caught off guard by the pass. As far as assists, he set up his teammates for like 3=4 other bunnies that they just missed.

He has a cool to his game and an ability to see passing windows open 1-2 seconds before they happen and he makes things happen by his athleticism that others just can't. I frankly saw all this in the clips and games I watched and am surprised the Jazz didn't take him given the limitations to Burkes game.

I think we chose Burke because he has the leadership persona we need and I am fine with it but I think Schroeder is the better player and has a special feel for the court.
