Burks Getting Trade Attention

I think It is very hypocritical that fans can be down on Burks. But, don't dare be down on any other player or you are horrible.

You clearly dont come here often so let me help you out. All of our players get bagged on when they play bad and all our players get praised when they play well. Were you here when Burks had a good stretch and almost everyone was stoked about him?

Some criticisms are laughed at because they are unwarranted and silly but those should be laughed at.

They were pretty close in the 15-16 season. The next year Hayward stepped up and Favors was hurt which is when the players separated. But that 15-16 season they were fairly close talent and production wise with Favors being the younger player.

Per 100 PPG: Favors 27 Hayward 28.8
Per 100 Rebounds: Favors 13.4 Hayward 7.2
Per 100 Assists: Favors 2.5 Hayward 5.4
Per 100 Blocks: Favors 2.4 Hayward 0.5
Per 100 Steals: Favors 2.0 Hayward 1.7
Per 100 TOV: Favors 2.8 Hayward 3.7
PER: Favors 21.6 Hayward 18.3
Offensive Rating: Favors 111 Hayward 110
Defensive Rating: Favors 101 Hayward 105
WS: Favors 7.1 Hayward 8.9
But WS per 48: Favors .173 Hayward .147
BPM: Favors 2.7 Hayward 2.5

The list could go on but the point is it was very close. Favors was a much better defensive player that year by a long stretch over Hayward who was not a good defender yet. On offense Hayward was doing a little more but Favors was more efficient and getting points. Favors got hurt towards the end which is where things started going south for him. But he was better at almost every stat in the game and they were neck and neck that year.

Pretty sure the argument was about Burks and Hayward.

Let's be real about Burks! The Great Disaster that was Tyerroneous Corbin gave Burks a pretty big hole to dig out from, and he's had a hard time proving to this coaching staff that he deserves time. I think Quinn has made a mistake in his treatment of Burks, Burks needed a much longer leash. Playing while looking over his shoulder has produced results that I don't believe accurately depict his game. A change of scenery is likely and deserved, Burks needs more playing time and a different system to blossom. A year from now let's revisit this thread, my money says the Jazz will be very sorry they let him go.
