Burks Was the Right Pick!! And Kanter Will be Great Along side Favors! Trade Sap or Jefferson.

Just a few of my thoughts- Endulge me!

What Jay Bilas Said is true: The Jazz had the best draft night! I love the Burks Pick. Burks has a ton of potential- The guy can flat out score the basketball! Handles the ball like a point gaurd at 6'6, he's long, and very athletic! Explosive first step! The jazz have needed a guy that can close out games, and create his own shot, and Burks has the potential to be a guy that can do that! Needs to improve his shot, and he could be a legit 2 and closer. Has anyone ever watched how Boston closes games in the last 2 to 4 minutes or so ? They often put Peirce at the top of the key, run isolation plays and let him go work. I Really think if Burks has the "it" factor (desire, commitment, and diligence) he could be an amazing player for the jazz for the next decade or so. (of course, hopefully he does not pull a D-Will ha). it is worth noting that one scout said that he sees Burks being able to play PG for 15 to 20 minutes a night. interesting! We will now have 3 positions that can handle the ball very well: Harris at PG, Burks at SG, and Hayward at SF (My only concern is that i liked Hayward guarding 2's more then him guarding 3's)

Also like the Kanter pick; He'll be great along side Favors!! Favors can rebound and be our Rim Protector, and Kanter has a big body to fill up space and rebound the basketball. I love our Size. Favors and Kanter are only 19, so both may still grow. Both have great potential. If both do end up reaching even 75 percent of their percieved potential, We will have a fantastic front court. Kanter can spread the floor for Favors! Bringing his guy out of the paint will also make it easier for Burks, Hayward and Harris to get to the rim and score! Way exciting to think how good we can be!! Remember when we could not handle the Laker Bigs for 3 straight years?? they were way to long and big for our front court. Boozer, Okur and Millsap really struggled against Odom, Bynum, and Gasol! I think that has changed for sure. Favors is so nimble, long and athletic, and pairing him with Kanter who is big and skilled could be an amazing front court!

Now that we have drafted Kanter, we have 6 bigs... lol, yes 6 (that is not counting FES and Elson who are free agents. Thank goodness i can say Goodbye Elson!! ). We have Okur, Jefferson, Milsap, Kanter, Evans, and Favors. If Kanter shows promise early on next season, it would be a great idea for the Jazz to trade Jefferson or millsap, and thus get some value where they have a greater need!

Jefferson has a fat contract, and it sure would be great to get that off the books. I think Letting Jefferson go will also spped up the development of Kanter and Favors. It's noting against Jefferson, but he really isn't good in the flex offense, and i think in the end his time in utah shuold be short lived (Of course, not sure where Corbin is going to go with the system the Jazz run. can't see it being too different from Sloan's).

I love Millsap for his heart and work ethic. he adds a lot to the Jazz. If he wants to stay, and is okay filling a role as a rotation guy i would love it if the Jazz kept him. I like the idea of Keeing Okur around for Kanters first year. idk, maybe he can help him develop in someway. maybe he''ll help him come along metally. Plus, Okur is just a great dude and perhaps that will help in the Locker room.

if you have any trade ideas, i would be interested to hear them. Overall i think we had an amazing draft! I think the jazz could be a legit contender just 3 to 4 years from now. I've never been more excited to be a Jazz Fan!!

No, just kidding. Like the enthusiasm.

I just dont get the "Hey, lets keep the smaller, less talented guy and get rid of the bigger, more talented guy because the small guy works hard." That thinking has gotten us far in the last 25 years.

Yep and people don't see why sap ranks dead last on this team on D. He is not a starter on this team or most teams in that case. If jazz fans still want to keep sap in the starting line up then good luck with that next year. Because as long as you have him as your main pf this team is not going anywhere. Favors is the starter on this team as like i have said over and over they have not lost a game yet with him as a starter. That should be enough to tell you that sap was getting killed trying to play d on bigger guys. It did look good and scary on this team to have him at the 3 but not sure how long he could keep doing that. I would rather have jefferson favors then 90% of the teams out there. So unless sap wants to come off the bench(which he is said over and over again he is a starter/pf) then you need to get rid of him. I would love to see him be able to be the 3 on this team because what i saw was some very good ball movement with our three big guys. But sap is a bench player when it is all said and done.

Why trade so fast? Kanter hasn't played ball in about 2 years. He is not going to come into the league and dominate. He needs to play behind someone. If we trade Jefferson, then Kanter is going to be starter, and I don't think its a good idea to just throw him in the fire like that.

That is Giada De Laurentiis and i like the peek down the shirt the most.

I would love to get some value for Millsap i still think he would be killer coming off the bench but i do not see a lot of percieved value for him, where as Jefferson we could probably get a straight swap Granger for Jefferson. i am still hoping that Favors will start.

Roflmao. That's the funniest thing Ive seen in a long time. I think we need to clamp down with what we have unless we get a trade that is impassable for paul harris or al. Rookies need a chance to develope and come next years draft when there is some excellent talent available we have those guys as assets for a big move in the draft.

Not only Jay Bilas likes our draft. Check out DanFeldman's comment on Burks under #3; "Biggest Steal".

Would love to Burks play some PG for us; he and Hayward together could be special...
I seriously doubt we trade Al Jefferson this year, and think Millsap can be used effectively against different teams to gain matchup advantages. What kills any team is to give up a bunch of easy baskets in the paint early-on. DON'T let the Zack Randolph's and Marcus Aldridge's of the NBA get into a good rhythm early in the game. Millsap quite simpy can't guard these guys, so shouldn't start when they are the opponent. Coach Ty needs to manage this by starting a bigger lineup; we GOT the players; let's use them! Millsap IS still a very good player and can be effective in the right matchup situation at either PF or SF. Heck, with smallball he can even play some C! I LOVE the 5 bigs we got now; amazing versatility as a group. Sorry, Jeremy, I count you as a SF, although same deal as with Millsap; he can give us a matchup advantage at times at PF with his speed and quickness.
