Buyout Options

For the pie in the sky enthusiasts, Bizmack Biyombo's name has appeared in the press as a potential buyout candidate. Don't know if he'd consider us over the Rockets (or anybody else) but he's at least the kind of player (rim protection, rebounding, interior defense) I think we could use for a playoff run.

I've been on board for this one for a while. I'd suspect the FO isn't, though, and probably look at him with the same dumb assessment that a lot of NBA fans look at Gobert "dude can't score lolololol"

I mean, maybe Biyombo gets bought out and the Rockets have to waive Chandler. I hope we'd at least do that. Probably not.

He has Ed Davis hands... I'd be worried a bit. Would be worth a shot because of the rim protection.

We'll be less worried about Ed Davis hands than we will be Tony Bradley reaction time and lateral movement.
More worried that he’s not physical enough and when he tries he fouls... IDK if it’s a learned thing or something you can get better at but he doesn’t seem to know how to use his body without fouling.

And it will make a great combo... Rudy on the bench because of foul trouble (and because the other team starts putting foul pressure on him), so you bring in Bradley and he gives up a lot of and1s, destroys the +/-, and gets in foul trouble himself. Rolling into half time with Rudy having 3 fouls and TB having 4. This isn't like some doomsday scenario that's hard to predict.

Yeah... Rudy gonna have to be really smart. I think against most of the teams we would play Juwan Morgan is a much better matchup than TB. I'd really like to see us get the guy reps now.

TB ain't gonna play against the Rockets or Clips at all... or at least he shouldn't. Maybe against the lakers or Nuggets size?

I just don't get what the plan is. I don't think TB will fail so hard right now that they make a permanent rotation change... so we roll status quo until he's unplayable in the playoffs and throw Morgan into the fire (or Ed more likely)? When teams are micro-focused on each other flaws like that will be exploited and exaggerated.

Buyout deals don't happen unless the player knows they have a good destination to replace some of the money they are giving up. IDK if we get in on these convos prior to them happening, but if not then we will never get a buyout guy. Not sure how much run he will get in Houston. Down to like two guys that could hit the market.

good lord, no thanks

Damn. I’d take a flyer on DeMarre Carroll - I’d sure hate to meet Houston in the playoffs just to see DC have a great night against us on both sides of the floor.

I can imagine a scenario where the Jazz were interested in DC and he wanted Houston. Takes two to make it happen. The Jazz may not make a move but I doubt they are sitting on their hands.
