BYU Football 2012

Yea, that Utes game was much more interesting.

I'll take the win.

I guess that's what happens when the no. 5 defense plays in the same game as the no. 11 defense.
No offense to the no. 29 defense.

The question is...

Is it two really good defenses? Or two inept offenses?

How many more games is Utah St's poor kicker gonna cost them this year?

BYU's kicker sucks too, missing a PAT? Come on!

What the hell is wrong with these guys?

I don't ever remember seeing BYU, Utah and USU having so many kicking problems in the same season.

#1 rushing defense in nation. Allowing 8 points per game. I know that's not going to last with the meat of the schedule coming up but dayum.

Awesome news...

Brandon Crowton is from the best OC in the nation...

PROVO BYU freshman quarterback Taysom Hill suffered a knee injury late in Friday's 6-3 victory over Utah State.

That much school officials confirmed Saturday.

Meanwhile, there are reports circulating that Hill's injury is season-ending.

According to BYU football media relations director Brett Pyne, "The extent of the injury and related status is currently being evaluated. Any updates will be provided Monday."

The injury apparently happened with a little more than one minute remaining in the game. The Cougars, nursing a three-point lead, had the ball and were attempting to run out the clock. Hill took the snap and run up the middle and absorbed a hard hit to his knee.

On the night, Hill had 19 carries.

I have no clue why Doman was running his QB on a useless QB keeper instead of taking a knee.

And I have no clue why no one in the media has called Doman out on his Skyline option offense. No BYU QB should be running the ball 19 times. Not one.

This isn't BYU Football.

Not only that, but the guy was calling option plays while BYU was supposedly in ball protect mode. That's a high risk play when the one thing you're trying to do is not turn the ball over. He's a total amateur.

Who's dumber? Crowton or Doman?

And I'm not even kidding.

Crowton was bad. He was greedy and oftentimes just gambled too much. Wasn't smart.

Doman? Hasn't a clue. He's just horrible. retarded. Just... He acts like he literally has no clue what to do on offense... even when he's winning and has the game well in hand (like last night. TAKE A KNEE).

Or risk having a knee taken out.

You want the ball in the hands of your best player. Having the QB keep it is acutally the safest play. However, I think BYU had no clue whether or not they needed to kneel the ball. That is inexcusable at that level. Also, someone needs to coach up Taysom about protecting himself in that situation.

I don't see why not -

Oregon State:

https://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/204/oregon-state-beavers

9th Passing yards, 106th in rushing, 93rd in scoring.

Notre Dame:

https://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/87/notre-dame-fighting-irish

84th in passing yards, 41st in rushing yards, 62nd in scoring

Georgia Tech:

https://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/59/georgia-tech-yellow-jackets

117th passing, 3rd in rushing, 27th in scoring.

In other words, they aren't much better on offense then what we've faced. The difference is that they are more balanced teams overall than we have played and thus better overall(minus GT). We are going to roll(as in barely beat because our defense is good) Oregon State and Georgia Tech. Notre Dame will be tough though because their defense is really good too.

Regardless, it's pretty awesome to be playing two top 10 teams in the next few weeks.
