C.J. Miles met with the Mavs

Miles is from the Dallas area and would like to play for the Mavericks

The Mavericks likely won't make any moves until the point guard situation is resolved. They want to sign Deron Williams or Steve Nash, in addition to retaining Jason Kidd.

Miles is willing to be part of trade and that might happen. Devin Harris is on the block and the Mavs may try to acquire him and Miles in a trade if they can't land their top targets.

Let's hope the Mavs don't get Nash or Williams and they go after Harris. What could we possibly want from them? Other than Shawn Marion I don't see anything. He's set to make $8 million this coming season and $9 million the following. I'm not so sure I want any part of that. Any ideas what the Mavericks and Jazz could do?

Note: Isn't C.J. a FA? Why would there need to be a trade?

It'd be a sign and trade. Teams like to do this so that they're not spending the MLE on someone.

I laughed this morning when one of the Mavs writers wrote that Dallas will consider CJ or Delonte West, and that the writer would rather have Delonte.

The sad thing is, is that I agree with the writer. I would rather have bat-****-crazy Delonte as well.

After the West Willy incident, opponents are intimidated by him. And even though Miles has more talent, I'd say West is more consistent basketball-wise. Of course, you can be pretty sure you won't have any weird incidents with Miles. So there are pros and cons with both.

I wonder if CJ knows that the only reason they're probably talking to him is they think it'll help sway DWill to come join his buddy. Word is they've reached out to Robert Whaley as well.

No sign and trade. I would however be down with the Jazz giving 1 million to whatever team signs him straight up. I never want him inked with Utah again. Not even the 10 seconds of a sign and trade.

I don't see that happening, but who knows? Maybe CJ will find a solid level of consistency.
Kind of like when Humphries left. Watch CJ have a decent resurgence and everyone on this board will claim they were for keeping him and KOC was an idiot and should be fired for not re-signing him to a 5 yr/$30M contract.

I'd be first to go on record as to the following:

1- I would never say that

2- That will never happen.
