Yes you can. This is done for many things. We don't live in a society filled with simpletons & void of nuance.

So here is a hypothetical (for everyone, not aimed at dal necessarily)...
LeBron James decides that he will follow the feelings he has had since he was 2 and live publicly as a woman. He feels far more comfortable in woman's body. He starts taking hormones and basically does exactly what Jenner did, complete with cover photo and 1 hour special on ESPN. Then he publicly states he is no longer comfortable being in a men's locker room. He wants to play in the WNBA with his (now her) "own kind".
Is it allowed? Why or why not?
1) flawed example-- women are allowed to play in the NBA (the Jazz even drafted one)
2) for the sake of argument-- umm, yes? Not sure why this would be problematic given the precedent set by the IOC. Oh noes, line-blurring!! Everything must be black and white in this world!
