What's new

Call me a homer a thousand times

Cousins seems to be on a path of becoming Al Jefferson with the added ability of being able to get to the FT line.

He still sucks on defense, he still has a questionable attitude, still takes bad shots, still isn't mentally tough. I just don't see him being a key piece to a good team. I see him being a great player on a crappy team.

Favors is going to be a defensive monster, which is always a piece on good teams. He may not be an offensive threat, but he will at least be a All-Defensive team caliber PF.

I see what you mean, but he's also a better rebounder, more athletic, MUCH higher ceiling, and just has that "it" thing going for him.

There's no way I'd take him over Favors, but I'd be willing to part with anyone else.

And Cousins is far from a finished product. Or is young and inexperienced enough that you can say that.

I got a PM from PKM. It all sounds reasonable to me, but to be clear, there is no trade imminent.

I have no idea whether this thread is about anything remotely connected to reality, but since it's returned slightly to the topic of Cousins's prospects, I just thought I'd throw this in:

It's by a Sacramento blogger and tries to find player comparisons to get an idea of where someone who starts his career with as low a FG% as Cousins and as high a usage might be headed. The names he comes up with as comparisons aren't that pretty.

Would you go so far as to say the comparisons are downright ugli?

I dunno. I'll look into it. I'm a big believer in keeping things as close to standard as possible. Is that standard?

You almost have to have a game limit per matchup to make sure that it can be competitive. Sometimes a player on one team well have 4 games that week were others well only have 2 games.

I'll look into it. I know we did a minimum a couple years ago when we did our league, but I figured out a way to exploit it so I want to figure out something different.
