Call Your Shot (Presidential Race)

So I haven't been researching this campaign that much but one of the good clients one day told me that Trump has way more professional and serious team compared to Hilary. Now, most of the time president is just a symbolic figure IMHO and what kind of team he/she has could be way more important then what kind of propaganda they spew out during campaign. Any of you guys dare to educate about their respective teams and their strengths and weaknesses?

Only thing I really know about their "team" and strengths and weaknesses is that the D campaign is blowing the R campaign out of the water on ground game.

For example: FL, Clinton has 50 + field offices that work to drum up support and voter turn out. Where as Trump has less than 10. Will that produce results? Who knows, but the presence is there.

Hard to imagine Clinton doesn't have a very pro team. First she's the spouse of a former president and she's been balls deep in the Democratic party for decades. And if her detractors are to be believed she can squash an FBI investigation and have FBI agents give false testimony to Congress. It'd take one hell of a team to manage all the conspiracies she apparently masterminds.

Yeah, Hillary has a well oiled machine operating on her behalf, which is one of the things people are rebelling against. I don't think people want a robot for president.

How do you guys think Hillary will sidestep the debate in a week? There's no chance they just send her up on stage to take on Trump. If they do, it's absolutely game over. She will get destroyed.

dude have you not been following her campaign? One of the worst political campaigns ever run. They're going to overlook it's significance just like they've been overlooking Trump's entire candidacy, and Bernie's before that. Nearly every other Democratic prez candidate would be mopping the floor with trump right now. Obama would me mopping the floor with Drumpf rn

Trump has been awful with organizing ground level support. Zero campaign offices in tons of swing areas, even states. Almost zero money spent with advertising.

Unfortunately for Hillary the foundation of her campaign is extremely, extremely leaky. She doesnt exude honesty, and she hasn't made inroads with entire swaths of the American population. The only chance the Dems have is if they can miraculously drive turnout in the final stages of the election. With Trump they want a low turnout, and they want independents to leave Hillary (which they have).

This isn't the republican primaries.

Im not talking about Trump being amazing, I'm talking about Hillary being terrible at anything that isn't perfectly controlled, and planned out. Plus, she is sick. If she has any sort of flare up, she's going to get buried.

Obama became President because he had charisma, and the audacity to promise to do a bunch of stuff he couldn't ever possibly do.

Trump will become president for very similar reasons.

Hillary is trying to become President off of what? The fact that she has been a politician for a long time? The fact that she isn't Donald Trump? I don't think the average American has a clue what any of Hillary's stances are.

For better or worse, I think Americans want a larger than life type of President. Bernie could have totally been that guy. Standing at a podium, shouting stuff that is both very social media friendly for going viral, and also utter BS that could never possibly happen, but gets people excited none the less.

Romney losing to Obama proved Americans don't want someone with sound policies and stable ideas, they want to shoot for the moon. They want that #ObamaPhone. Go big or go home, No Guts No Glory, It's just the way Americans are wired.

What were these sound policies that Romney was advocating for? ALso this whole notion of "unachievable policies" turns me off because every precedent that society has set was at one time unimaginable

It's long been the mantra of politicians that you "campaign in poetry and govern in prose." This is because people normally vote with their emotions and are therefore stupid. Your visualization of a John Wayne type president is amusing, but not entirely accurate. The trend in the U.S. for voters under 35 is absolutely moving towards the left at a rapid rate, and this has been apparent with Trump's and Clinton's polling numbers. As more of the population dies off and these Millennials etc. take over, liberal polices will more than likely become the norm. They like having more of a reality show type president, but liberal policies are a large part of this as well.

Also, I don’t think it’s that bad of an idea to use Trump as the enemy. Ben Shapiro, a very conservative intellectual, has pointed out that Democrats attack the Republican candidate almost every year, with good success. The Republicans used to use the Soviet Union as the imminent threat with good success, but devoid of that threat, they have struggled to delineate a scary enough foe. This year, they have tried to use the general idea of doomsday. We’ll see how it works.

Also, Hillary has done just fine in debates over the years. Trump will be like Ruprecht in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and the moderator will need to threaten him with the genital cuff if any semblance of a debate is to materialize. Finally, you mistake Trump’s self-control of a seven year old for charisma.
