What's new

calling it now: Kanter will be traded, and Burke will be in the deal

Quin has said (and shown on court) that he wants kanter taking more threes. Apparently snyder thinks kanter can shoot

I think insisting on him taking more 3's is a result of him wanting to trade Enes. He must think of the 3 game added to Enes as a polish to the 2nd hand furniture. Make it easy to get him some more bucks than the Jazz offers and get rid of him in exchange for room for another wing.

Like I said, practice and games are different things. His mind moves too slow during games. It affects everything he does.

Remember how we kept hearing CJ Miles was a fantastic shooter in practice? Some guys just cannot translate that into games.

Good points.
I wonder why quin snyder does not understand what you guys are saying. (I agree with you btw)

Quin is simply giving Kanter a long rehearsal right now. He knows the statistics, he knows the film, and now he's seeing firsthand the player himself. It's a number 3 overall pick... and I understand why the team would like to restore his plummeting value, at least, or see if the new system can unlock his potential, at best.

Who says that he doesn't? Right now Booker is playing 2.5 mpg more than Kanter. In fact the only game where Kanter played more was against Dallas and Kanter only played 1 more minute at that. They both played 27 minutes last night.

I referencing more about kanter being a shooter or not and how quin uses him.

If quin recognizes that kanter has no outside game, like cy and stifle tower do, then it seems like quin would not ask kanter to shoot threes. (I have not seen favors or gobert shoot any threes nor be encouraged to)

Well said. There is no reason to rush to judgment. We aren't making the playoffs. The WORST outcome would be to trash Kanter, then see him bust out with a new team (on the cheap). Give him 82 games, 25 mins/per to show what he can/cannot do and what he has/hasn't improved upon.

I'm not saying he WON'T develop an outside shot. It's unlikely, but he needs one if he is to fit in Quin's system and if the Jazz are to invest significant dollars in him on a new 4 yr deal.

Kanter and Burke are good back ups. The kind you need to be elite.

Exum Burke
Hezonja Burks Millsap
Hayward Booker
Favors Kanter
Gobert Tomic

I think that team has a chance to be something special.

I like thise players, but not that team. Also, Booker is not a 3. I'd go with:

Exum- Neto- Burke
Russell- Burks - Burke- Exum
Hayward- Hood- Jingles- Burks
Kanter- Favors- Tomic
Gobert- Favors - Tomic - Kanter

I think you need more spacing at the 4 than Favors jumpshot allows, especially when Gobert is a strict at-the-rim player. Also, I would oike to always have a shot blocker on the court, and starting Favors with Gobrt makes this tricky.

Also, Russell is D'Angelo Russell AKA I-Was-Born-to-Play-with-Hayward.
