Can Gordon Hayward lead us ?

The leader of this team will come out naturally. At this point i think its early to ask "who is the leader of this team?" question. Time will tell, its a learning process but if you ask "Who is gonna be the leader of this team?" i place my bets on Hayward. But its also up to him and how he handles the situations on the court/off the court in breaking points.

i dont recall Burks, Favors or anyone else on the team barking at Big Al last year. Hayward did, quite often as they were walking to the bench.

There are a lot of different leaders and Hayward has a style that is effective, based on earned respect. Trey is not the leader of this team just becauae he said do on draft night... lol.

To be a real MAN you do not need to be a gangsta... What I want to explain is that Hayward is more like a friendly smiling, polite payper boy, than a real MAN who lives in the forest, chopping woods.

Hayward is great at chopping wood.

I get it now: the prototypical Jazz leader is Greg Ostertag.

People talk about Hayward's leadership like he has no experience doing it. You don' take Butler to Championship Game runs without leadership.

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
The leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
The calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them.

Ok, let me explain you about this. Gordon Hayward for me is no leader. You don´t have to be the best player to lead a team, but you have to be a real Man. Hayward for me just does not look masculin enough, to be a leader. A leader is a guy with a scary look, with lots of charisma and maybe a beard. But Hayward just looks like the good, nice young boy from neighbourhood with polite manners.

Mayba you guys can follow my cogitations ???
We need guy who is street, who is dirty and likes to shout at everyone...
If you want to gain success, youn can not get lead by a nice guy...

And I also don´t think that Hayward will something like a star in these leage. Ok, Hayward is a good player, he can also transform into a very good player, but he will never be a Star in this league. Let me settle this, Hayward is a very good shooter, he has good speed for his size, solid ball handling and can get to the line well. But....

- he can not attack the rim successfully on a consistent way, he is not strong enough !!!
- He can not handle the ball on elite level, his court vision is not good enough !!!
- he can not defend bigger guys, his body is to weak !!!
- He can not rebound the ball, HE HAS SMALL HANDS !!!

Who can be our Leader ?

I would say that my voice would go to Enes Kanter.
Why ?
First of all, he is not ready to lead a team, yet! Karl Malone has to get him into another training camp and thrash his childish grind out of his face, with an coachman's whip so long, that he will transform into a beast who does know nothing about fun. A MAN who just nows about LEADING; FIGHTING AND WINNING!!!

As you can see we have no player, who can lead this team seriously, but with Kanter we can build one...

What do you think ???

My Name is CAKAR and I approve this message!!!

LoL you've made my evening, buddy. And I agree with you on many of those points. But Hayward is growing into something else. Also I can see that on Favors and Kanter too. All the show off side of Kanter will go away during the game. At least that is the fortune I will tell. Kanter will be the best scorer in the team. Gordon will play the leader role but his success is up to his mental state to overcome psyche outs. I agree with the poster who said that not all leaders are born leaders, but also trying to grow someone into a leader who has not been a leader in his life before is a risky and low success rate process. That usually happens naturally. I hope Hayward can carry this burden without being unhappy. I hope he has time for PC games too.

Who needs a leader when you're tanking?

I think that Hayward can be a very good role player, but nothing more than that. I know that they are trying to give Hayward the leader role, but he never will fit into it. We do not need to make a leader out of Hayward, he should be that, what he is naturally. He do not have to simulate a role, he is not feeling confident with...

He should stay as the smiling sunnyboy who he is... I like the "real" Hayward... He gives our team something innocent and i like that...

But for me he is no leader...

You want a leader?

Whoever kills it on the floor has the best shot of being the real leader out there, like it or not.
Leaders have to get it done for the rest of the team to actually follow or listen to them.

I hope Hayward and Favors can do it.
I actually could see it be Kanter, Hayward, and Burks... but really really want Favors and Burke in there too.
Someone that talks a good game but can't back it up, it just doesn't work. If Burke is a talker, he better learn fast to play well.

People, I swear that CAKAR is not my alt or anything.

Just wanted to say it, for the record.
