Can Lucas Getting Cut Be That Far Behind

I think Luke the third realizes his shelf life is about to expire if he doesn't start to play better and the Jazz get some wins. It ain't going to be a building year for Trey and the other tyros if they keep getting their hats handed to them as Luke chucks and assists at the rate he has been and then let's his man go the hole with abandon like happened in the 4th quarter vs. Denver. If things don't improve with him markedly chalk it up as a failure and go shopping for a young player in the DLeague. Let's tank with style and aplomb.
 
Lucas is DL's homeboy. Says he knew him when Lucas was a kid, both went to Baylor, etc. And Lucas is a guaranteed contract=Lucas stays.
 
If Lucas makes peanuts, me the Jazz could absorb his contract and cut him if his replacement was cheap enough.
 
Lucas has to be one of the worst PGs ive ever seen in a Jazz uni.

I really hope hes at least gone next year. I cant take two years of this brick laying clown
 
Guys, I said before season that Lucas is perfect tank commander, are you nuts willing to get rid of him after 1-8 start? He mus lead us to promised land, be it Parkerland or Wigginsland.

Now hold on a darn second! Are you trying to say that the other teams (any team) backup point guard is worse than JL111. Either you are in a position where you can't see any games, you are blind or you have attention deficit disorder. Why i would stack up JL111's stats per minute played and feel very confident that he would rank in the bottom five of all time. If he continues to get minutes the Jazz record will be in the bottom five of all time also. Garrett was a breath of fresh air, i hope it lasts.
 
Won't get cut, but will get plenty of DNP's when Burke is back. Should get them now...
 
Tonight JLIII went 0-7 from the field, had 1 point, 1 rebound, zero assists (every other player but M. Williams had at least 1 assist) and 2 turn-overs in 15 minutes of play.

Think on that.

More importantly the Pelicans were just daring him to shoot. Tough to run an offense, which is probably why Corbin had to bench him for the second half.

That said, the Jazz have hardly ever swallowed guaranteed contracts and Lucas is still owed $1.6M. I don't see them waiving him any time soon. MAYBE later if nothing improves (and when they aren't wasting so much, or if they make a deal at some point he could be salary filler.

This. Stephen Hawking would have been just as effective as JLIII was. I take that back SH wouldn't have gone 0 for 7. Stephen Hawking > JLIII @ NBA

SH probably has better shot selection but can't defend as good as JL3.
 
bizarre to think that a player like lucas3 could be so highly regarded by lindsay that he was our FIRST CHOICE to back up trey this year. signed on well before training camp and has seemingly been given the green light until this game. from what i've seen in 9 game this year he is terrible: cannot (won't?) run a fast break, always looking to get his shots off, can't stick an open 3 and seriously looks like he's palming the ball all the time. i keep waiting for him to get whistled on it. in fact i don't know why but it's really frustrating just watching him dribble... maybe it reminds me of all the weekend wannabe warriors i play against.
