Can somebody post proof that Utah is looking to trade Devin Harris?

I have read in multiple threads that Utah is looking to trade Devin Harris. I have nveer heard anything like that from KOC. I have heard him say, multiple times, that he was happy and pleased to get Harris as part of the Derron Williams trade. I have heard him say that he is a very good point guard, a young point guard, etc.

Is there any legitimate links that can be posted to back up the Harris trade info? Rumors started on other teams websites don't really mean that much. Anybody got a quote from KOC that is less than flattering about Harris?
 
Fans are now thinking that 28 in the NBA is old, and Harris is old and not with the youth movement, so they have to trade him for youth.

He's a trade chip for sure, but I doubt they're actively looking to trade him at this point.
 
you're looking for proof in the form of a link??? From the FO that didn't allow any leakage on the DWill blockbuster? You're not going to find it.

But, let me give you two reasons why this is the right time to trade Harris:
1. From an asset management standpoint, Harris is a declining asset. That said, he's still able to play his game and there are teams that have a stated interest in what he brings to the table (e.g. Portland). Pure and simple argument here: get what you can out of him because a 30 year old Harris might be worth jack ****.

2. As a PG Harris provides almost zero continuity with the Jazz system, something that, at least up to now, Corbin has been more keen to mirror than not. Now, I know there has been some talk about changes, but I still think that he'd rather have a quarterback playing that spot.

If you can trade Harris to the Blazers and get Miller and Matthews or Batum, then you do it without thinking.

Of course, there are plenty more arguments..........
 
Personally, I like what I saw from Harris when he played. Don't know why everyone wants him gone. With a training camp of the Jazz offense, he will only be better, at least I think

you don't become ace at the pick-n-roll after one training camp. Harris hasn't be a PnR PG. That's a big change.

Very goods points, but a deal with Portland will never happen. The Blazers and Jazz have a very adversarial relationship. Portland has screwed the Jazz twice now. Paul Allen is a Class A jackass; he can't even recognize and hold on to one of the best GM's in the business. Besides, the Blazers ain't gonna trade Matthews or Batum unless it's in a package for a superstar. Matthews is the replacement for Roy. And Batum is a very good wing. Why in the world would we want Miller anyway? Harris old at 28? Andre is 34. If the Jazz do a deal, Harris needs to be traded for a young PG and/or pick(s).

Don't you also need bigs that can actually roll to the basket? Jefferson is not good at the PnR; neither is Millsap. That was probably part of Deron's frustration. He was able to up his assist totals by having such a great PnR player in Boozer.
 
I think the opposite is true. I think the Jazz plan on keeping Devin Harris for atleast this year. If the Jazz do indeed draft a PG I think they want to sit him behind a veteran for a year or two.
 
I think a deal with Portland is possible. Business is business, and they happen to have been correct about both Millsap and Matthews. Those boys are good.

Harris makes a lot of sense in Portland's system, and they have a glut of players at the wing. Plus, the Andre experiment has run its course, and they'd definitely like to be free of his contract. I think there's an argument that Utah gets better with Miller over Harris (at least offensively), and he'd be put more in a leadership role (rather than quasi-marginalized as he has been in Portland), something he'd enjoy. Plus, the Jazz need some veteran leadership and Miller brings a lot of experience to the table. And, he's still quite efficient for his age.
 
Here's a big what if.
Remember mid season rumors were that Mavs really wanted Harris.
Does any one know what the Mavs were offering Nets for him?
What would the deal have been?
If that trade had gone through as rumored would Mavs have gotten to finals?
Why did Mavs want him? Mavs must have thought he was the missing piece they needed.
Yet many think Jazz should trade him now.
 
There are plenty of links from Internet GM's who think the Jazz should trade Harris...good thing they aren't real GMs

Contrary to popular belief the Jazz aren't a PnR team. At least not last year anyway. I do hope they do it a lot more next year especially with Hayward and Favors. I wouldn't mind if those two averaged 10+ a game.
 
I would be pissed if the jazz traded him away for someone like miller. How would he make this team better who needs someone who can shoot. At least Harris is going to shoot that ball better and he seems catch on to things well. I can tell he wants to win again and is going to try hard out there. He might not be an all star pg anymore but if you are going to get someone better you are going to be looking at an all star. Jazz would be stupid to get rid of him for cheap players out there that we already can get with Earl. I am a big Miller fan but that was way long ago. Miller is about SEVEN years older then Harris is. He might not be the leader on this team but he makes a very good role player that helps out. I would hope the jazz go more to a two pg system because that is where they are at their best.
 
Why would The Jazz openly shop Harris?

If they did they'd be tipping their hand that they're going to pick a PG in the draft. Why put yourself in that position?

They wanted Harris because they knew that the Jazz liked him. They were hoping they could put together a DWill package down the road.
