Let's put some honey on that.

January wasn't too bad on ol' Chuck. 12.7 points in 22.8 minutes, with a standard deviation of 6.8 points per game. He shot a respectable 38.9% from three. At 43.7%, his fg% looks bad on the surface. However, considering almost half his shots came from behind the arc, this wasn't too bad. He shot 69-158 fg and 28-72 3pt. Backing out the 3's, his 2 point attempt % is 41 of 86, or 47.7%. Add in 31 free throw attempts and it was a solid month overall.

It feels so good posting in this thread again

Bench CJ... play Hayward as the 6th man. If he's off, he just won't shoot. And lets not forget that Hayward plays way better D than CJ.

CJ is obviously butthurt that Deron has left, hasn't cracked the slightest smile since the trade. Considering his name is Chucker J Smiles, that says a lot about his temperament right now. Jazz should shop him this off season. Don't give him away but test the market.

Correct. His nickname is "Chucker." His full name is Catch 'n' Jack "Chucker" Smiles.

Team Option

Unless CJ rips it up in March this will be the third consecutive season that his 3FG% and overall FG% have both gone down. If he went to college he'd just being finishing up his doctorate right about now; so I'd say that excuse has long worn out.

Even still, unless they can do something this offseason to find someone with something resembling a jump-shot I wouldn't be surprised if Utah picked him up considering it's a cheap option (about 3.7 mil)

I have been pretty gracious about this all if I do say so myself. But I was right, from the first board a couple years ago to now. CJ is at best a role player, and right now not a very good one at that. I didn't rub it in on anyone, mainly because I really do root for him (read back through this thread for proof). But at least one or 2 people saw fit to more than flame me for my opinion, but to get degrading, disgusting and demeaning about it. Including vile references to family and spouse is more than below the belt, and should warrant banning in my opinion.

But are any apologies forthcoming? Hmm.

Speaks to character (or lack thereof) if you ask me.

I've defended CJ in the past because he's always shown a lot of promise, but it's getting to the point where he's cutting into the playing time of Hayward (and Evans to a smaller extent) and he's costing the team games more than he's lifting them to victory.

With Deron gone, there's even less of a reason to keep him around then ever before.

I sincerely hope that KOC and company are planning on shaking things up next year. Out with CJ, Price, Elson, Fes. Bell if he continues to struggle.

yeah not much to say about miles. He is what he is. No need for him to stunt the growth of Hayward, or a future lottery pick.

I'm kind of done with CJ. However Price and Bell are far bigger problems. This team needs a decent wing. Play freaking Hayward and Evans. They can't be worse than Bell and Price. Bell's defense is pathetic and he's less consistent than Miles if that's even possible.

Count me in on this. I've been saying for a while that I thought CJ would come around but, no, he's just terrible. He's a mentally soft chucker. End of story.

We need production out of the SG spot. We're not getting any from CJ, Hayward, Bell, or anyone else we play there. CJ's "put off" by not having his butt buddy around anymore, so REPLACE HIS ***.

I will always stick by Miles in these times. He is a good player. He just cant let these streaks get to him. I expect him to pick it up sometime and to at least start playing decent ball again. He has been terrible lately, but I think he will get back into the swing of things eventually.
