Can the Matt Harpring experiment please end?

I was a big Harpring fan as a player but he just comes up with some of the lamest stuff on the mic. Pants on the ground was bad once, twice is just getting embarassing. Imagine sitting next to him during a game. I wouldn't be suprised if he thinks of lame stuff to say before the game to use that he thinks is funny.

And that poll question toinght, man, I guess the clowns who replaced Boone have the same dumb sense of humor. I mean, I know the Jazz made some dumb moves this summer, but keeping Boone full time costs peanuts compared to some of the other cost cutting, win sacrificing moves that the Jazz made.

ditch bolerjack, ditch harpring, don't even show the game, just keep a camera on boone as he mumbles his way through the action for 2 hours
 
He's the best Jazz announcer already IMO. The other guys can't go for more than a couple of series' without letting out an incoherent thought or leaning on shtick.
 
One thing I find pretty funny about Harpring is when everytime a guy dribbles he is "showing us his point guard skills". That applies to everyone from Hayward to Big Fes.

LOL. Cant argue there. He isnt perfect, but he is still better than anything since Hot Rod.
 
He talks too much and is unbearable in some games. Like the guy but c'mon "I like the aggressive nature of Deron on this play", say what? BTW, Deron gets an offensive foul. I started to think Jerry rewards the player with most aggressive fouls after the games. Maybe?

Agreed. I find his constant "I like" or "I don't like it when" very tiresome. Describe the action, don't give so much of your personal opinion. Or go become a coach.

He's the hometown teams' color commentary guy. That's his job.

No its not. Booner describes things and even gets his opinions in without being so obvious. Matt is just too much "I I I I I" for my tastes and it has nothing to do with being the hometeam's guy.

A lot of fans actually like that about him though since he used to play for the Jazz. So to a degree him giving his opinions is probably part of the plan. IMO he does a good job most of the time. Boone is absolutely horrible.
 
I think people have a preconceived notion that beacuse he is a recent teammember that it automatically makes him more qualified than someone else.
 
The "rookie" schtick kills me every time I hear it. The only thing worse than listening to Harpring, is when they go to Big T for his comments...pardon me while I hurl.
 
I don't like Harpring. He drives me nuts. Boone would sometimes say some stupid things but he had a good natured charm about him. Harpring has nothing.
