I am working on a project truck. I have the frame from a 79 chevy pickup, I am going to box the frame so it is stronger, and rebuild the front and rear end. I am rebuilding a 5.9 liter cummins turbo diesel motor to put on it, and an Allison smart transmission/transfer case. I will put disc brakes on all four wheels, and modern steering. Then I am putting a body from a 1972 chevy pickup on it when the guys are ready. I am really early in the project, just working on the frame right now. I will start the motor this fall.

Can't get them here at all unfortunately. It's a real status symbol if you can afford to buy one and get it shipped here.

No. We are going to get something more family friendly for our time in germany. Probably a Skoda. But I told the Mrs. That I can't rule out bringing one home when the time comes to move back. Would be a sweet souvenir.
True story from this weekend
Took my family to Vegas this past weekend. Including my 12 year old daughter that does not live with me. She lives in a small redneck town. As we are driving we see a brand new Skyline and she thinks it's ugly. Then a pair of Lambos racing on the 215 in Vegas. Doesn't like them either. As we are driving thru town she points out a car she does think is cool. A two toned, beat up, 20 year old pinto. She was dead serious. I died a little inside.

If your goal is to scream "Hey, I'm in the middle of a mid-life crisis", I would go for it.
I will never understand people's infatuations with cars. A car is a car. Just give me one that doesn't break down or waste a lot of gas $$$.
I let my personality and my wiener do that stuff for me.
