Drove a 94 Mercedes-Benz C220 with 280000KMs (high-ish for cars here, Cuz of the climate) that I bought at an action for $2000 with help from my parents. Never had a single problem with it. INCREDIBLY solid car, mechanically-speaking. Even the way the doors closed felt damn good. Dat German engineering.
Some idiot rear-ended me, & totalled my car two years ago. Got quite a bit of insurance money ($6500), and used every penny to buy a 2003 Mercedes C230 Kompressor. 2dr, automatic, power errthang, and only 130 000KMs.
The supercharger really is great, and the fuel economy is better than my old car (even though it's like twice as fast). Only problem is that the car is definitely less mechanically-sound-- had the suspension give out, and a pulley in the engine melted when I was driving from Spokane to Edmonton.
Still, I've spent less than $600 in repairs in the two years I've had it. Not as reliable as the old one though.
