Cavs and Wolves Agree on Love for Wiggins/Bennett/1st

Well said.

I don't think Pippen missed the playoffs without Jordan. Jordan sat 1.5 seasons if I remember correctly and in the one full season he was out, Pippen was awesome and brought them to the second round of the playoffs, losing a game seven to the Knicks who eventually lost the NBA title in seven games to the Rockets.
Ya, I couldn't remember for sure.
Pretty impressive accomplishment by pippen

Kevin Love is a good scorer and great rebounder but HE'S NOT A GOOD DEFENDER. In fact, he's pretty bad.

MN now has Wiggins, Bennett and a 1st. Bennett will be OK - last year was a complete nightmare for him but at worst, I think he can be a rotation player who plays 15 minutes a game.

I'm excited to see Wiggins and Rubio on the same team.

I really like this trade for Twolves and I agree on bennett

This is true but a lot of people think Davis is better than love already. (Myself included)

Point is that sometimes really good players play on bad teams for bad organizations and don't make the playoffs. I think kyrie is very good and I don't think he has made the playoffs either.

T-mac was really good and had yao with him and those teams didn't do much.

Did Carmelo make the playoffs last year? Love playing in a very dominant west didn't help him.

I'm not sure but I think pippen missed the playoffs without Jordan

Is love bad at defense? Definitely
But he is a better passer, rebounder, and scorer than almost every big in the entire league....... including Anthony Davis

Bottom line is Kevin Love is arguably the best PF in the league and is just 25. Sure he doesn't defend, but everybody, with the exception of LeBron, has holes in their game. You can win championships with some guys on your team that aren't good defenders.

Holy crap. Don't quit your day jobs people. This is a fantastic trade for both sides. Cleveland gives up Bennett, who has not shown he is anywhere near a #1 pick. Heck, he might not even be a starter in this league. They give up a future #1, which will be a late first round pick, which means most likely they gave up nothing, and Wiggins. Wiggins could be amazing. He could be the next Tracy McGrady. Or he could be Rudy Gay.

I'd rather have Love than McGrady or Gay.

Cleveland now has LeBron, Irving, and Love. They are the favorite to win the East. They are better matchups against SA now than the Heat were last year. LeBron = LeBron. Irving > Wade. Love > Bosh.

Cleveland will now be in the finals next June. Chicago is the only team that "might" give Cleveland a scare in the East, and Chicago can't score worth a lick.

If you are Cleveland you do this trade without hesitating. Heck, I'd even have another first ready if Minn had asked for it.

Getting Love for them, with LeBron and Irving is a good move. I think that Wiggins will be better long term, but this is a good move for the Cavs. I'm interested in what the Wolves do to rebuild. Kahn built them a strange roster without Love and they are going to go through a weird transition mode. LaVine looks pretty good, possibly great. . . but is it all flash?

Great post, except that I'd take McGrady over Love in their primes. If that's Wiggins upside (or higher), then Minnesota makes out well down the road.

Agree with all this

I'm not sure I'd say they got robbed but this is probably true. What was Kahn's other option? To get Klay Thompson? Meh. He's a good player and all but the Wiggins/Bennett combo far outweighs that imo so it was really the only option.

Kahn is no longer the gm in minnesota. I think the T-wolves came out the winner because they were going to lose Love for nothing if they didn't trade him.

Woj confirmed that few minutes ago. This is crazy. The Cavs got robbed.

The Cavs got robbed? They got a top 5-7 player in the league. They gave up Wiggins (only potential right now), a draft bust, and a late first round pick next year.

If the Cavs waited they wouldn't have had cap room next year to sign him. By the time Wiggins is a star Lebron will be 33-34 years old. The Cavs had to do this. The team trading FOR the current star almost always wins these trades.

No way the Wolves are the "Winner" here. They developed a #5 pick into one of the top players in the NBA and once they start getting better he decides to leave. You definitely can't call Minnesota the "winner" here.

The Cavs are going to roll in the East because, well, it's the East, but their depth is going to really test them. Outside of the three marquee players, you've got Chucker9000 in Waiters, an aging Varejao, Miami retreads with James Jones and Miller and scrub city with three, count 'em, three scrubs from Utah alone (Lucas, Murphy,

I hope their first unit can outscore opponents by 15 points because their second unit is going to allow that much.

You forgot Tristan Thompson who is solid and getting better. You call Waiters a chucker, but as a 37% 3pt shooter, that may not always be bad - also coming off just his second season and getting better. There is also still a good chance they sign Ray Allen.

I'd say this team is better at the top and deeper than LBJ's Miami teams.

Cavs= champions

Wiggins might be a good asset even a star but Bennett is a bust (for a #1 pick, that is) and Cavs 1st rd. pick will prolly be "Mr. Irrelevant".

Nice for both teams.

Looks like the "The king" has assembled his court Jesters...you know the ones that he and the media will blame when 'The greatest player ever' loses a game or series. I know you young kids like him, but he reminds me of this:

"I am the King, the King, the King I tell you!"

It will be funny when James and Love both bolt for LAL next summer.

I think I read somewhere that Love is signing a 5 year extension as part of the deal.

The rest of the Cavs roster looks like bunch of B and C class players but don't forget about their new coach, David Blatt. He is a master at using those kind of players.
