Cavs v Warriors Game 1

Or just good luck. Steph not being at Max due to injury concerns and slightly slow development and green quickly developing from a bench player to an all Star left a lot of cap room. Having 3 or 4 all Stars on a team and still having room to sign a max player is unlikely to happen again for another team. If green and Curry had Max deals they would not have had room for Durant.

Yep, it still sucks big time though, it feels like being an NBA fan in the 60s waiting for the inevitable Celtics title...

Tyrone Lue looked dazed and confused. After the game stating that "they're the best I've ever seen " , and "no other team has done this ". It's as though he is giving up after game 1. There were matchup's that the Cavaliers shouldn't have been presented with. Like Love guarding Durant and 12-0 runs with no in game adjustments. Lue should've called timeouts earlier and had an actual gamelan for mid game adjustments. Cavaliers got straight worked by Golden State all game long. The presence of KD was obviously way too much.

I think the cavs will win 1 game (4-1 for the warriors), I also think NBA teams will only win the Warriors probably 40ish times in the next ~3 years

What team/coach hasn't looked dazed and confused? I've lost interest in these playoffs, but has GS even lost this entire playoffs?

Difficult to criticize Lue. No one has had an answer for the warriors.

Hell, it took Cleveland 7 games last year to beat golden state. And that was when they had Harrison Barnes.

I don't understand why people are surprised by this. Golden state literally has a top 3 player in 4/5 positions. How's Lue, pops, or anyone supposed to counter that? I'd be more surprised if Cleveland even steals one.

No. But he did make that situation possible.

You think KD would be at the warriors if Lebron hadn't been building superteams the past 6 years??

LeBron is absolutely the one that started the trend of superstars joining ranks to win a ring. He and KD are the same animal simply playing for different teams. If KD wins a ring this year he beat LeBron at this own game.

The warriors and especially KD have ruined the NBA. What a bitch #cantbeatemjoinem

Lebron ruined the NBA... He was the one who made it ok/acceptable for superstars to "join forces". Now he is reaping what he sowed!

Oh you kids. Don't remember Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippin, Clide the Glide, Shaw, Dwight, or Dickhead Dominique that wouldn't sign with Utah?

KD an LeBron ain't nuthin New you dumb ****s.

This was my biggest fear for this post season as an overall NBA fan.
I knew Cleveland and GSW were gonna meet in the finals, I mean everyone knew it. And it sucks, the playoffs were mostly boring. Having the Jazz and their run was SUPER exciting dont get me wrong. This post season as a Jazz fan was great. But as an NBA fan its been super boring.
Everyone talked about how this finals is gonna be 'epic, legendary' ect...I never bought into it. Cavs are a great team. But they cant match up with the Warriors, no one can.
This series is gonna end in 5 games. And if Durant is gonna take less money to keep this core together, then you can look at a Warriors dynasty with no real competition unless someone gets hurt.
It took a perfect storm to allow this super team to be built, but it happened. And its not good for the game long term.

A lot of people I know are already tuned out of the finals

Dream, Barkley, and Clyde?

Malone, Payton, Kobe, and shaq?

Spre, Cassell, and KG?

KG, Pierce, and Ray Allen?

Stars have been joining other stars to win championships for a while. Even Lebron's joining of the Heat was different because Dwade was clearly on the back half of his career.

The thing that sets KD's situation apart from all of the others is that golden state was the best regular season team last year, set records for wins, and their entire core is still young and entering their primes.

What KD did was much different. He joined the best team in the NBA while LeBron created a team from scratch. KD took the p*ssy way out and that's a fact.

Purely hypothetical (and because boring playoffs)- does the current CBA and salary conditions allow Durant to go back Thunder next season to be together with Westbrook and also grab a good player from the Warriors along? For example, what are the maximum salaries, that Thunder can offer next season to Durant and Klay/Draymond/Curry (pick one of them)and can also keep Westbrook?

So in the future there is a possibility that a for example a trio of superstars stay only one year with each team and therefore can brag, that "hey, we have won titles with 5 different teams".
Does the CBA allows a team to pay a player a veteran minimum and big money to his girlfriend, wife, parents etc. by creating an artificial job at the company?

The thunder are over the cap even without Durant. They can only sign guys to the mid level exception.

I my humble opinion if a player wants to become known as the best of all time he would join a team like the Jazz and win a championship with a small makert team.

How can we not criticize Lue? The arrogant **** come out 10 days ago stating how much harder Boston was to guard. He may have just lost his job with that statement and the defeatist attitude he presented at the post game interviews "They're the best I've ever seen"... Come on man.

Sorry when were these guys ever arguably the best player in the world, in their prime and teaming up to win rings??

The Boston team was the only one where guys were in their primes but none where considered top 5 in the world let alone the #1 and #2 guy.

What Lebron did (weather he did it first or not is not important), it set the tone for the NBA and others are following suit.

Seems most here forgot San Antonio was kicking Golden States *** by 23 points on Golden States home court til the thug Zaza went after Kahwi's feet at the 3 pt line. I suppose those talking about Golden State as the superteam think that was just an abberation.
