What's new

CBS reports tonight that Deron Williams has informed associates he looks to join Amar'e in NY

I disagree. PG is stacked. Look around. Almost half the teams in the league have elite level point guards and there is are a few more comming out in this draft.

Half the teams in the league can't have "elite level" PGs.

I am not sure how much credibility this has.........

First off its a blog. Second nobody posted there name as to who wrote this article? So the guy who could possibly making up this story can't be questioned?

What a punk post some article about this rumor but don't write who said it?

Williams just came through the resignation of Jerry Sloan, with reports indicating Williams was involved in a locker room confrontation the night before Sloan announced he was leaving the Jazz after over two decades. Williams vehemently denied any such conflict with Sloan, but the repercussions caused by the Hall of Fame coach's departure are still being felt.

^ This is where this guy loses all credibility. Williams never denied that there was a conflict at halftime. This guy is a liar. Deron openly admitted there was a conflict at halftime. Everyone in the organization admitted that there was a conflict. And everyone in the organization said it didn't even make the top ten conflicts Jerry has had with players or even Deron. They said Jerry had confrontations all the time.

Article is bogus when you catch one of this lies in the article and when they won't even post there own name.

Homerun.

Keep eating the slop, guys.

Am I the only one here that's getting tired of Mr. Drama queen? Every month there seems to be something new. He's either upset because we traded his buddy with a jacked up elbow, throwing the coach under the bus, bashing the FO, or hinting about a trade.

Just leave already. I'd gladly sacrifice a few Ws for a few less whines. Hell, at this point, we're already losing with him on our team anyway.

I'd personally much rather have a capable SF and SG than a top PG. Just look at the championship teams. Most usually don't have a top PG. But they are a lot better than the Jazz are currently at the SF/SG positions.

We have one "report" citing one anonymous source citing another source written by a "journalist" that happens to be the epicenter of the bull **** rumor mill for over two years now and there seem to be a sizable contingent of people buying it. Holy ****.

Maybe he did say it, but this is National Enquirer-level of credibility.

A source close to Jazz guard Deron Williams said Sunday a report that the two-time All-Star wants to play for the New York Knicks after the 2011-12 season is "crazy."

Williams holds a player option for the 2012-13 campaign with Utah worth $17.9 million. He discussed the media circus about his future with the Jazz on Friday, stating that uncertainty surrounding a Collective Bargaining Agreement that will expire June 30 is the main factor affecting his decision.

"Until I see what that's like, I can't even think about it," Williams said. "I don't want to get into one of those things where everybody's guessing what I'm going to do. I'd rather just leave it at that. You can guess if you want to, but you're not going to know from me."

seems all the drama queen behavior is coming from half the posters on this board, there really has not been much of anything from Williams that falls into that category at all

or maybe I just don't under your definition of a drama queen?

This is much more entertaining then the RealGM thread on the General Board, where 90% of the posters are tearing apart New York Journalism.

New York starting lineup in 2012, based on journalists like the guy this thread is based on.

PG: Paul
SG: Williams
SF: Anthony
PF: Stoudemire
C: Howard

Soooo....just say you want to be with the Jazz. Easiest way to avoid speculation and "Guessing". He is going to put us throughthe same nonsense Melo has for the nugz. To deny that is idiotic.

Well to insinuate that DW wants out with zero evidence is just as idiotic. See DW can't win either way if he says anything you will crucify him and if he doesn't say anything you will speculate that he is an @$$ and wants out. Haters just hate they don't need to use common sense or give a player the benefit of the doubt until he does something. No if DW starts saying he wants to play in NY or LA then hate all you want.

The only thing I have heard/read is that DW doesn't want to talk about what he is going to be doing in two years, that he is under contract, he wants to win and that he signed his 3 year contract because he wants to make sure the franchise is committed to winning. He hasn't made any "I get my money no matter what comments or I would love playing in Chicago, Miami" etc. like Boozer did.

DW said he will keep his plans private until he is a free agent and make the best decision for himself. Which is the right of every human being and free agents in the NBA.

He's not denying a desire to leave, he's denying that he's thinking about it at all.

If he says "I want to stay here" and then leaves, what does that accomplish? Every Jazz fan will hate him even more.

Under the current CBA, the Jazz can't (or won't) do what needs to be done to put together a championship caliber team. Maybe that will change. Deron has 18 months or so to make a decision.

As far as this report goes, the New York sports media needs a new player to talk about. This Melo trade drama will end on Thursday regardless of his destination, and if ends with him going to the Nets, those guys are going to need a new player to pine over.

Jazzfanzs complaining about no loyalty from DW and then showing none by taking the word of some tweet'n "journalist".[/QUOTE

How Naive are you? Acting like Dwill is you boy and you must have loyalty to him? LMFAO. He is a player for a TEAM I am lotal too. You are a joke. Dwill has given us NO reason to believe he is LOYAL to the TEAM over the past 12 months.

What exactlly has he done to show disloyalty? Are you upset because he didn't take Sloan whipping like he should? REally no loyalty. He playing injured. Sure seems that people complain about loyalty seemed to forget or excuse AK's disloyalty during the playoffs or Boozer talking about getting his money. Now those are examples of disloyalty. So tell me EXACTLY what you think he has done that has constituted disloyalty and use FACTS and not your homer opinion about what you think happened. My standard of loyalty as a fan is that I give all players the benefit of the doubt until I have sufficient information to make a plausible conclusion that a specific players is not loyal to the Jazz. My loyalty as a fan remains with the team and not a specific player. So your assumption that I was suggesting that DW was my boy, must have resulted from you having hurt feelings as well as being completely ridiculous.

If DW actually does something to deserve to be boo (disagreeing with the coach is not on my list because then I would have to consider Stockton, Malone, Hornacek, Russell etc disloyal). So before you call me naive or a joke how about you back up your opinion with some actual facts instead of responing like a emotional teenager.

Jazz fans need to get over this "loyalty" business. Stockton was an anomaly.

Bronze statues and retired numbers are great, but most players want a ring above all else. If he leaves, he won't be chasing money. You don't think the Jazz are going to throw a max deal at Deron in 2012? He'll be going after a championship.

You don't know what's going to be in this next CBA. The Jazz may be able to prevent him from leaving if the franchise tag is approved.

Deron will be leaving a crazy amount of $$$ on the table if he left the Jazz regardless of a new CBA or not. The home team is always afforded the right to give a more lucrative offer to it's own FA's. Who knows, maybe now that there is a bit of a regime change we will start getting more athletic players instead of system players. I'd prefer a little of both but but what ever gets the job done is fine by me. If we had 10 Gordon Haywards and Deron Williams and that got us a championship I'd be happy.

Anyways, I digress, Deron isn't going anywhere unless there is a complete meltdown by one side or the other.

You guys do realize he has another year after this one in Utah, and then another after that which is a player option, right? Point is, a lot can happen in the next two years, good or bad for Jazzfanz.
