Central tank command : the official thread

Denver, Washington, and NO are all on that list too.

My trade hopes the rest of the season would be to land another first rounder for this year using some of Thabo/Jonas/Favs/Udoh and taking on a Shumpert like contract. I'd also like us in the Mirotic sweepstakes in January, but if there is one thing Niko does it is ruin tanks.
Perfect. I'd rather make the playoffs/finish strong since this team isn't finishing below tenth-worst record.

That brings up something else, though: is it a certainty the Bulls would rather part with Mirotic than Portis? Cuz I want Portis.

I think they really like Bobby and he's played better and is under team control longer as a RFA. I think Mirotic is similar to Lauri so he is the obvious candidate to go, but dude is balling right now and I doubt they get more than a second and expiring salary for him. I trade Favs and a second for Mirotic right now.

I would take either btw.

If we held out DM and really moved on from some of our vet pieces there is a chance we could land 8 or 9. Both LA teams pass us and BKN (no tank motivation).

Sacramento is incompetent so they could mess up the tank and Charlotte is good when Kemba is on the court... if they get healthy they could win a few games. Memphis has an outside shot at making a run if Conley comes back.

Top 9 would be pretty great... Having a shot at Mikal Bridges, Trae Young, Collin Sexton would be quite a difference than Carter, Knox, and others in that tier.

Aint happenin braugh.

I know, but I talked myself into us going full tilt in one direction for just a second. Sad days around here... aint no sunshine when DM and Rudy are gone.

No doubt. I wonder if we could trade our ~12th to 16th pick plus the rights to Hood or Exum to get up to the prospect DL really wants? Maybe we can even accept some salary (before we re-sign Hood and/or Exum) in order to move up? I wonder what assets DL is willing to use as a springboard.

There is no reason to keep JoeJ and Favors. None. Some could argue Thabo too, but JoeJ and Favors need to be traded for assets asap.

We'd have to trade Hood or Exum before the deadline though. Honestly if we moved Hood we could take on a **** ton of salary next year for picks (if salary dumps become available).

I mean we need the 3rd guy... push as much in as we can to get that 3rd guy. I would keep Exum because I don't see his trade value as really anything and I think he's got a shot at being good.

We can't trade Hood or X on draft day to a team that would then control their rights?

the thing is that if you start the tear down now... chalk up a bad season due to injuries and move from 12 to 7-9, that is a significant improvement in that asset.

We won't do it though... Hypothetical tank trades:

- Hood to Philly for their 1st rounder top 10 protected.
-Thabo/Udoh to Cleveland for Shump and their first rounder (and Zizic if they want) would save them 13 M in luxury tax and salary plus give them two functional rotation guys that could play minutes in the finals.
- Favs to Wash. for Gortat and their first... could sub Mahimi and get a couple firsts (maybe)... that is an awful contract.

Removing a Thabo, Hood, and Favs with our current injury woes creates a lot of losses fast. It would be scorched earth for half a season, but we'd have a shot at pairing some good pieces with DM, Gobert.

Again I think there is next to no chance that we'd do it. We seem to be in that KOC push for the #8 mode.

Nah... they are Free agents at that point.

Let's hope we don't tarde Handlogten's Heros and lets the bottom fall out dis bitch. Thanks bro

Thanks. If the right trade comes along go ahead and tarde the eff out of me. I’m a team player.

Hood for a Philly top-10 protected 1st sounds pretty legit for all sides.

Getting a late 1st from Cleveland to save them a whole hell of a lot of money and make them better in what might be their last year of contention sounds legit.

So you go into the draft with two picks in the 10-20 range and one near 30, I think that sounds like a recipe for trading up.

Still go into 2019 and 2020 with DM, Gobert, Ingles, Snyder, Lindsey, and lots of cap. Sounds legit to me.

this team cant even tank well.

so we're using steam for now.

Our team can't decide if it's a steam train or a tank... oh ****, we'll just call it a steam tank.

I'm all for holding out Donovan well past what's sensible just to be sure. He doesn't really need to develop that much anyways and why put a bunch of useless minutes on his body. Blow this ************ up. Trade Favors, Hood and Burks for anything that gets you better draft picks or players. They are all injury prone, I'm totally over them. Our window is in 2-6 years and that's all we should be focused on right now. Between Dante and Jingles we have a few pieces to go with Don and Rudy.

I would really like Crowder or Portis, if either of those things are possible without losing any 1sts or key pieces. Need to figure out who is gonna be our 3&D 4. Jerebko has been a very nice piece so far but I don't think it's sustainable, and if it is, he's 30 already and we would be priced out given our window.
