Chad Ford & Kevin Pelton with David Locke Podcast

Three first round picks (including Burks) are a lot to move up in order to get into the Top 5 of this draft. Some combination of the #14 and either Burks or #21 should be enough to get into Top 5. Burks would probably be a 4-8 selection in this draft.

don't you mean irregardless?

There is no player in this draft worth two first and burks. People are underrating Burks, when he played big minutes he usually produced. He is one of the few guys on our team who can create his own shot. He gets to the FT a lot and if he had stayed all four years in college this would be his class. No doubt in my mind if he was in this draft he would be a top 3 guy.

This paragraph here. I agree with this stuff.

14/21/and a player that would easily be top 10 in this draft is way too much for anyone in this draft. Now, history will obviously show there's bound to be an all-star in this class but you might as well throw darts at a board to find out who that guy or guys are. He could just as easily come from out of the lottery-2nd round as he could from the top 10.

I'm not a draft expert by any means, but I have always loved the draft process and feel I have a decent track record of recognizing a guy or two that will be really solid/good (did I mention I called Lillard from a year away......?), but this draft is the most unpredictable that I've ever seen.

Unless the Jazz brass are seeing something we can't that screams "this guy has a 75%+ chance of being an all-star" I don't think you give that much for what amounts to a crap shoot.

As long as Hayward is here, I don't think the Jazz see Burks as a starter.

Whoever the Jazz draft at #14, #21, or later will most likely be garbage and out of the league in three years.

SO, if the Jazz feel there is a special player they can get by moving Burks, one that will start for a long time, why wouldn't they? That would make more sense for the Jazz. Especially if they know Burks will do what he can to be gone after his rookie deal.

Chad Ford says #14, #21 could get #7 at the highest and #10 at the lowest. He also said if you add in Burks to the mix with #14 or #21 the Jazz could move up into the Top-5.

Package both for BJBurke asap

It is dumb to sell low on Burks right now. For this draft?? The kid's a stud. Dunno if he'll wanna stay in Utah (I kinda don't think so) but if he gets PT he'll increase his trade value this next year. Then trade him. Maybe.

Then why did we draft him?
