Chad Ford's Mock Draft taken with other teams' preferences

By jove, you're correct. Whoops. Post edited accordingly.

I would be the farm that it would not have been Jimmer (but then I'm a city boy).

Lol.

I remember being at energy solutions for the draft that year and really hoping jimmer would be gone by the jazz pick.

And i really really wanted alec burks so everything worked out nicely.

I think i better go to the draft this year too in hopes of landing wiggins. Maybe it will work our my way again.

Admittedly, it is very hard being a draft expert when the Cleveland Cavaliers are on the clock. Nobody can foresee that foolishness. . .

If the Jazz got the #1 pick.. and we will.. and we select Jabari, the world will absolutely assume it's a mormon mktg thing, whether true or not.

I agree but a lot of people thought the Jazz would go after Jimmer too. Perception is always open to debate I guess. I hope the Jazz pick Wiggins if they get the first pick. I would have taken Embiid over Parker before the back issue too.

I'd be very tempted to take Embiid #1.

Am I the only one who thinks most of these guys are overrated? I think there is good talent, but I'm not sure I see any superstars in the mix. I really hope they avoid Randle, and I'd prefer Exum at this point.

My big Board looks like this

1-Wiggins
2-Exum
3- Embiid
4- Parker
5-Randle
6- Gordon
7-Smart

They're all just cattle, really.

I think what may be overrated by most is the immediate impact the picks will have. It's impossible to doubt the superstar potential of Wiggins and Embiid imo, but they, like many of the top picks, are very raw talents. I don't doubt that this could end up being one of the best draft classes ever, but when people hear the hype they are going to expect immediate results and be quick to judge. Wiggins, Embiid, Exum, and Gordon might be four of the top five picks, and they will all take some time to develop. If many of the raw talents in this draft don't improve as we expect them to over time then it would be a way overhyped class.

This class lacks a Lebron (a guy who will come in right away and destroy the competition) imo, but has many players who can be like Blake Griffin in the sense that they will take a couple years to develop, but can eventually become superstars.

Did the 'upside potential' pan out for Xavier Henry, Al-Farouq Aminu, Cole Aldrich, and Like Babbitt? All of those players had higher ceilings than Gordon coming out of college-- and look at them now.

That's why as a GM you can't always go for 'upside'.

Stupid argument. and doesn't every player have upside to them? They've never played in the NBA before.
