Scientist are still grappling with the shocking fact that 2/3 of fast food packaging contains no chemicals. They are scrambling to try to understand what substance is being used to produce the chemical free packaging since everything in the known universe is made from chemicals. Maybe 2/3 of fast food packaging is made from dark matter?

Anyway, I know this is a dumb thread. Just irritates me to see a headline that is so dumb. Of course there are chemicals in packaging. If they want to talk about fluorinated chemicals use a headline that says "1/3 of Fast Food Packaging Contains Fluorinated Chemicals."

IMO, of course.. . . .

nobody ruins a game more than the guy with the rule book, like no one is as illiterate as the guy with a dictionary. Trying to cram the English language into meaning is like trying to convince Game of God.

We all use context and a lot of gentler signals to invest our poor concise speech with the meaning we intend, and we always fail because of the fact that almost everyone else out there is thinking about their own problems or ideas they wish us to get.

I usually take it, whenever anyone uses the word "chemicals", that they must be idiots in the first place. Obviously the term is used here as a sort of erudite or impressive synonym for "poisons".

In the limited language of food packaging, it is an ignorant boast to claim "all natural" or "no chemicals".

Well, not to hijack a joke thread.... ha ha..... as if.

The "chemicals" currently on the list of concerns in some quarters refers specifically to phytoestrogens. These estrogen effectors.... having biological effects similar to estrogen.... include Bis-Phenol A and other "plasitcizers" which confer a little pliability to the plastic. Canned goods are included in the packaging concerns because a thin layer plastic sprayed on the inside of cans to prevent corrosion has the same or similar phytoestrogen activity.

Phytoestrogens in our rivers have in some places been linked to morphological sexual changes, making males of whatever species more effeminate. Those of you guys who are gay are likely affected by this stuff, and all the soy ingredients in our processed foods from baby formula to muscle building protein drinks. gals who are having extreme bouts with hormonal changes are living on an augmented "estrogen cycle" no doubt, and one third of women's breast cancers are "estrogen positive", which means estrogen and phytoestrogens cause it.

Archer Daniels Midland, ADM, adds soy oil to vegetable oil, safflower oil, corn oil, etc. used in practically all mass produced breads, crackers, chips, and cookies.

Where's your link to the study comparing estrogen levels between gay and straight men.

LMAO

Gotta love babe.

Haha.. you gotta laugh at these kids w there over sensitivity to LGBT that they gasp when you suggest something as natural (an "Duh") as physiological effects accompanying sexual dimorphism and how those may become co-mingled a bit in same sex attraction.

Scientifically speaking, that is as easy an hypothesis as you can come by when there has been no genetic link to homosexuality. But SHOW. ME. YOUR. STUDY!

The other day I had an Apollo burger for the first time in months. Man that stuff is good!

I had that a few days ago too. Got the western bacon cheeseburger and fries. One of the best burgers i have had in a long time. Simply fantastic. and that fry sauce? to die for.

In other news, scientists confirm that water is indeed wet.

I prefer Crown Burger, but you did have the best burger on Apollo's menu, so nice job!

Is there a difference between apollo, crowne, atlantis, etc?

Yes. They are generally all run by Greek families but they aren't connected other than maybe through friendship who knows. Basically crown set the standard and other Greek families moved in and copied it with some tweaks.

Huh. Good info. Thanks

I consider them nearly interchangeable.

However, Apollo has gone down hill starting about a year or two ago. They changed their menu a bit (got rid of their rice, for one) and got sleek new containers and cups and started giving out fry sauce in factory sealed cups.

I usually get the apollo burger and my wife frequently gets the jr. apollo burger. Last time I order both I absolutely could not tell which was which... and not because they were both as big as a regular apollo burger.

I also get gyros and I have been consistently underimpressed with theirs.

I can't really speak to where Crown Burger has gone, there aren't any around me so I don't typically go there.

Crown burger is consistently awesome. Best fry sauce in the business. Crown burger is just short of nirvana. Gyro is solid. Onion rings are the bomb. Love it. Far and away my favorite burger place in general.
