What's new

Chris Bosh

infection you read the ruling? Seems like I was right.

I did. It's unfortunate. My argument was to not hang your hat on Miami's evaluation as the final word on his health. If the argument is that since the league's medical ruling supports Miami's then we should have taken Miami's ruling at face value all along, I still disagree with that.

No, my argument was never to take Miami's ruling at face value, but not to completely dismiss it as just a money/cap thing. I leaned towards believing the Heat because they are a high quality organization with high quality people. You seemed to completely dismiss it as being a pure cap thing and his condition was no big deal.

I just typed a lengthy response to this which did not get posted and I lost. I will try again tomorrow.

I'm going to eventually get around to reposting my thoughts. We're currently in the process of moving and I'll be driving my family to Utah this weekend and then flying back here so it will likely be next week.

Anyway, one point I'd want to make is that it's important to understand what this ruling is. This allows him to be formally released from his contract with the Heat (while getting all his guaranteed money). This provides the Heat protection because they get the insurance and they get the cap space. As it stood, Bosh had two years left in his deal and he wouldn't play for those two years. This ruling would be his only path forward if he is wishing to return (he could do so after 9 months [in reality a year], pending reevaluation). I know this opens up a lot of questions but I'll address that later.
