Clinton will win easily

Having a black president and a woman running this year brought on Trump. Exit polls are showing this was a backlash to those facts and an uprising from the uneducated white and mostly males.

The uprising of both Trump and Bernie show two things: 1 is that people are not happy about the direction we were heading as a country and want change, also why Obama was so popular his first election. I've felt things are trending upward but clearly many don't feel that way. This also shows that our country isn't well educated and does not research statements, we buy into hype and believe what is posted on social media and use that as our main source of news.

Trump won because the left keeps using the phrase "uneducated white males". Being condescending and accusative toward the largest demographic group in the country is a really dumb thing to do if you want to win an election.

Not to mention Clinton trailed Obama 2012 numbers by almost 7 million.

Trump trailed Romney 2012 numbers by almost 2 million and still performing better among women, Latinos and blacks than Romney did.

Clinton failed, dramatically so, to inspire and galvanize typically D voting blocks. It's not like Trump had some great white surge. He under performed Romney. Who wa s blasted long and loud for being uninspiring.

Yeah, for sure.

Clinton lost among white women. Clinton is a white woman! How that happened should be the question Dems are asking themselves. Democrats and liberal pundits(Maher)need to quit saying uneducated whites immediately.

...And it's also ****ing dumb to think you have a grasp of anybody's education just by reading data that shows when he/she left public schools. The left is guilty of this in a big way.

Yeah I find that extremely insulting. My father and brother and both of my sisters do not have college educations but I consider them to be intelligent reasonable and rational people. Just because someone doesn't have a college education does not automatically make them white trash or whatever this is meant to imply.

I'm not sure I saw a single Clinton bumper sticker or sign.

Its kind of like americans are like, "ya we are the best country in the world and we would rather live here than anywhere else in the world but thats not good enough. We need to change things. Being the best isn't enough. We need to be way further ahead of second place than we are."

It would be like the patroits being like "ya we have been the best nfl franchise in the last 15 years and won multiple superbowls, but we didn't win all the superbowls. So lets make some changes. Lets trade Tom Brady for ryan fitzpatrick and fire bellicheck and hire bob ryan."

Guess it depends on the lens you are looking through.

I took #MAGA to mean bring back American pride, which had vanished under Obama.

My gripe with Obama was always that I wanted him to be the President of the United States, not the President of the world.

Good gripe and well put tbh

It is the largest group and it's condescending to call them by what they are... It doesn't take away from the fact that they decided this election and will keep deciding unless the other side rallies against them or we improve the education level of this country. Equality of all races, sex and personal choices are important to many. People might get offended by people fighting for that, maybe there are better ways to go about it but it is worth fighting for. Even if there is back lash to that and we elect someone who doesn't support and even if the other side pretends it isn't an issue that fight people will keep pushing for human rights.

Srsly. I know a ton of women(and men for that matter) that for one reason or another didn't have a real opportunity to go to or finish college. Most of them have made themselves very valuable by acquiring skills on the job. Many of them have worked their way into management by sticking with a company and putting up with the bull ****. Those people don't want to hear that they are stupid. They know what they do better than anyone else.

Not only does the term sound condescending but it is most often used in a way that is meant to be condescending. This attitude cost the left the election in a big way. They better learn from it.

Women who didn't go to college.

White women with a college degree picked Clinton - by six ****ing percentage points. 51%-45%.
Not sure why you see that as a large gap. If she'd been a decent candidate she would have destroyed Trump in this demographic, getting 60% at minimum.

Or just assume Trump won't deliver on any of his promises and the backlash will go the other way. The grass is always greener and we are rarely satisfied with the current. I don't think calling anyone uneducated white male changed enough votes to be a factor. Getting people worked up about their way of life being threatened and feeling that they were losing power to other groups combined with the normal propoganda against the other side did the trick.

my girlfriend's last year of traditional schooling was when she was 12 years old. The Left's data would put her down as something like 'deeply uneducated.' On the contrary, she is one of the smartest people I've ever known (and, just for the record, I have a stupidly high amount of 'education').

I know I'm preaching to the choir when I talk to salt13 about this, but it's amazing how much the establishment Left has lost their way. All they needed to win this election was an alliance with some kind of working class hero. That's it. They were so far off from this, though, that Donald ****ing Trump was able to be this for enough people. Mind blowing.

There wasn't a huge backlash. Trump got fewer votes than Romney and McCain. The Democrats didn't get enough people to show up to vote for them. Obama did but Obama did not run a campaign that talked down to people.

I sincerely hope you're right but there is nothing in Trump's history that makes me think that there is even a remote chance of this happening.

My uncle briefly worked for him in the mid-80's during the real estate boom when Trump was on the top of the world - even back then he was insulated by a thick bubble of *** kissers and yes men.

I don't think this guy has had to deal with anyone with a opinion different that his in at least 40 years.
Trump obviously loves having his *** kissed, but to say that he hasn't had to deal with anyone with a different opinion is just ridiculous. You would have to be insulated by a thick bubble of something for the last several years to actually believe a thing like this.

Hillary was very gracious in her defeat ... and I've got a lot of respect for that. That bit about a smooth transfer of power was very moving.

Not showing up to vote from independents and other groups is backlash. I don't think Obama and Clinton ran that different of campaigns. Obama's first campaign was different but the language and plan of his second and Clinton's were fairly identical.
