Clippers sign Kenyon Martin

Hard time beleiving a washed up Kenyon Martin really make them go to the next level, but it's a good signing considering their lack of PF depth.

Also, holy crap the 2000 NBA draft was a stinker. Kenyon Martin the 1st overall pick as a 4 year senior without really great numbers?

I think it addresses one of their major holes. Bench depth, their current bench sucks. This is what I was talking about with the Clippers and Heat. These type of signings will be what make them championship contenders for years to come. Role players are going to gravitate to these "super teams" because it gives them a legitimate shot at a title.

Now I do not know if this one signing takes them over the top but I think they will get a few more in the offseason and the combined wieght of those signings will.

I'm going with washed up. If he was any decent, he would have been signed before the season started.

Think about it...when was the last time you thought "We are playing the nuggets and Kenyon Martin. Hope he doesn't go off on us"

He signed in China during the lockout and only now was released from that contract so he could play in the NBA. Largest contract in Chinese basketball history, or so I read. Not saying he is awesome but he will be a solid back up at PF for them.

Ironically, he was sort of Blake Griffin before Blake Griffin. His explosiveness and athleticism was off the charts and then, in the first round tourney game (I think), he blew out his (I think) (enter knee ligament). I'm assuming ACL.

He could have been better than his career indicates. Not a ton better but certainly better. He lost a lot after that injury.

Right. He was freakish before that injury.

The bigger question is, will Blake Griffin ever get a sweet "Lips" tattoo on his neck?

Personally, I think nbadraft.net's scouting report comparing Kmart to Rasheed Wallace was dead on.....

lol....

Brought to you by the same folks that compared Adam Morrison to Larry Legend, Dsteve to MJ, Mo Almond to Michael Redd, and Boom Bitches to Money Memo...
