Coach Q's Offense Next Season

Changing the offensive system.

A flexible coach should adapt the offensive system depending of the roster and not the opposite.

As far as I know Snyder wanted to push the pace when first arrived to Utah, when he realized the players were better in a half court/low pace offense he changed his tune and played accordingly.

I think Snyder wants to push in transition, but slow it down and make the defense work in the half-court. What players do you think are more suited to a low pace offense?

I definitely see us running in transition more this season, but I'm wondering if our slow it down, find the mis-match, then go to work half court offense will be shaken up a bit. I think in the past we have relied on our wings for a lot of playmaking, but with Rubio you really want the ball in his hands as he doesn't seem like a guy you have to guard tightly off the ball. Also with the addition of Udoh I'm wondering if we play Favs at the 4 more this season and have some traditional two bigs lineups?

This. Quin has relied on multiple play makers because he inherited a bad PG situation. Even last year, Hood was more of a scoring PG. And, Gordon demanded the ball a lot. It will be interesting to see how the offense changes. I do see running in transition, pushing the ball up the court instead of the walk or slow trot. Once in the half-court, it will be P&R heavy with Rudy. And Gobert will still get screen assists; they'll just be for Hood and Ingles instead of Haywoody.

Do you mean Hill was more of a scoring PG?

I think that Rubio/Exum/Mitchell/Neto/Burks will be tasked with pushing the ball in transition, but I'm excited to see how Quin utilizes Rudy's/ Fav's diving abilities and Rubio's passing. Add Rudy's screens and Jingle's/ Hood's shooting to the mix and I think we can get to a decent offense next season.

If we can get to an average offense efficiency wise next season we can be really good.

Run.

But I assume it'll be whatever caters to Rudy the best, I still think we will see a lot of 1/2 court offense and PnR. Would like to lose the passing around the top of the key at the start of each offensive possession though.

You want to do away with strong motion initiation why? Do you know even the purpose of play initiation like what you are describing?

I'm fine with it when its required but it seems like we do it every possession, I'd just like to see us push the ball up a little more.

Here's a video about last season's offense that I found useful.

I think I understand the basics of it, but I wouldn't mind if you educated me a bit on this. IIRC you used to do some cool breakdowns on this site that were very helpful.
