...have you checked out the "AND1" board? All hoppers all the time....no white guys allowed!
No but I was just kidding- it's not that bad here and it doesn't offend me.

No, but seriously, Aldrich is going to be a BIG WHITE STIFF.

Our female fans will certainly be stimulated by his arrival then.
Typical. Everyone on this board is complaining about stereotypes. Just because Aldrich sweats, jumps around, and gets red faced he plays with passion, effort, and heart. Those mean nothing without results. I "have" watched Aldrich. He is also older than most of the draft. He has the maturity and experience at the college level that allows him to exploit the younger college players. Aldrich will be no better than the Collins twins. Jarron played with heart and above his talent level. Did he make the Jazz a championship contender?
About as solid as one day old diarrhea.
If I were in the front office I would draft a big player based on one thing...race. No big white guys. For the most part, they ****ing suck.
Since many if not most are leery about drafting a big, white center, let's compare him to Hawes.
Aldrich: Standing reach, 9'3.5"...Max Vert of 28'...Max Vert Reach of 11'7.5"...Agility drill in 11.48...Sprint in 3.35...Benchpress 10 times
Hawes: Standing reach of 9'2"...Max vert of 29'...Max Vert Reach of 11'7"...Agility drill in 11.88...Sprint in 3.51...Benchpress 9 times
This doesn't bode well.
Aldrich is waaaaaay behind the measurements of guys like Bogut, Gortat, and other such bigs in the league.
First of all, Aldrich is 21. He left as a junior. How the hell is that old for a draft prospect? Udoh is 23 as a junior, that is old for a prospect. Exploiting his opponents with maturity and experience? Since when are those negative qualities to have in a player? Besides, if you did some research, you would see his best season at KU came as a 20 year old sophomore. So his success isn't purely based on experience, he has ability. Your comparison of Aldrich to Collins is laughable. Collins has NEVER been the defensive player Aldrich is...in college or the NBA. Aldrich moves much better than Collins and has a better back-to-the-basket game than Collins. Just because they both play hard doesn't make Aldrich destined to become like Collins in the NBA. These are some of the weakest arguments made against Aldrich yet.
If you think stat's can equate to a good player then the draft would not be a "crap" shoot. Quincy Lewis would have been Jordan, Kris Humphries = Dwight Howard, etc. You can put sprinkles on a Tu rd, but at the end of the day it's still a Tu rd. (WTF why is Tu rd censored?)

To me, when Aldrich measured in at 6-9 w/out shoes (2" for shoes gets him back up to his listed 6-11) and a 7-4 ¾ wingspan (by comparison Millsap had a 7-1 ½ and Boozer 7-2 1/4) that cemented the point that he's not a championship center, especially in the west.Chad Ford said:One of the things is physically he looks like Greg Ostertag and that turns you off kinda right away, the Kansas jersey, just the initial look at him can sometimes kinda hurt guys. He’s way more athletic than Ostertag, way more active, and a better offensive player than Ostertag was at Kansas. However, Ostertag was also a lot bigger [7-2] than Cole Aldrich and one of the things that I think actually matters in the league at center is there’s a difference between 6-11 and 7-1, and once you break that magical 7-foot [barrier] and get into 7-1 and 7-2 - now you’re in elite companty in the league as far as size goes and there’s some things you can do just flatout because of your size. 6-11 is much more pedestrian in the league as far as big guys go and he doesn’t really stand out - his physical profile - he doesn’t have the longest arms in the world – and so he’s not going to have a physical advantage over other guys.
I think he’s a pretty decent athlete and he runs the floor well, he’s active, he blocks shots, he rebounds, he’s got that really funky shot - though it’s very accurate that he shoots from about 15-feet - loves to hit it right at the top of the key and he’s effective kinda in that pick-and-pop mode as well.
I think he’ll be a decent NBA center, definitely not top-10, probably not a top-15 center in the league but a starter.
Why do people bring up the without shoes measurment?
