I think Cody is a very cerebral player and it probably hinders him at this point more than it helps. I feel like I can see him thinking his way through the game vs just feeling his way through the game. The hope is that his body gets him to the point where his brain tells him he can go for it, and then at some point he just is reacting by instinct.
I remember being very high on Cody through the draft and so I went back recently and looked at comments through the draft threads (mostly to make sure I wasn't too embarrassing, lol). Almost everyone who liked or at least understood him as a prospect talked about him being a long term project and would need time before he would be an impact player. I get that he has been worse than anyone could have imagined, but I do think we're all being a little impatient with him. Even though I'm not confident at all that he will become an NBA player, at least logically I can reason that the majority of things that make him unplayable could be related to getting stronger and the potential mental unlock that could have for him.
Since he's a Jazz player, I will just continue to hope.
