What's new

College Basketball '14-15......

Not right now, but Issac Neilson and Kaufusi at least have that potential and could at worst give you what Nate and Luke do for awhile(not in the same ways, but overall) until they get up to speed. They both just kind of look lost out there in their little spurts they get to play because they don't get enough time to get going and they both foul like crazy anyway so the two current starters would still play a lot, but those two starting would ensure they pick up much needed game experience in longer spurts.

Mika can't return from his mission soon enough lol

My sincerest congratulations to Ute fans but I gotta keep it real. The Utes were the favorites here. This wasn't some amazing win. They simply did what they should've done.

Been saying that on here all week bro. We are good enough that we should expect to beat most any team in the country at home.

Nice win for the Utes. Good game, fun to watch. A better passing team than I thought, good defense.

Should be a good year. Some radio goon projects them as the 2nd Pac12 team below Zona.

Not sure if cereal, but Utah was picked number 2 in the Pac in the pre season media poll.

If Jamal Aytes didn't get injured, that would've helped a lot this year. He would've been eligible in two weeks. Kyle Davis, the Utah State transfer that's sitting out, is nice too. Post offense will be much better next year. You'll have one of those guys in at all times playing power forward and then either Kaufusi/Worthington/Neilsen at C. That will be better. Then throw in Mika/Peyton Dastrup with all those guys the following year....and there probably won't be anything to complain about at that point.

I have trouble sifting between your chest-pumping silly UGLI and the very rarely seen, serious UGLI.

Lol

If I say something specific that I think will happen before a Utes game I am being serious, and will probly be spot on.

If it's just generic, "we're the best ever" stuff then I'm just UGLI'ing around.

I don't pay attention to pre season media polls... so maybe that's why it was more of a surprise.
Not sure if that means Utah is really good this year, or if it means the Pac is down this year.
Maybe a combo, Utah looks legit.

Worried for my Cougs when they meet.
I'm conflicted because the Cougs played SDSU really close too and lost, but I don't think the Cougs match up against the Utes as well as they did SDSU.
Not sure if it will be a close game either could win, or the Utes will bust the Cougs chops. bleh

Utah is really good.

Utah is head and shoulders better than byu as far as upside for how good of a season they could have. byu's absolute ceiling is a fringe tournament team. The sky is the limit for Utah, and I'm really expecting a Sweet 16 appearance.

Having said that, Utah hasn't proven that they can win on the road, and we will be without Loveridge again. I'd say it's a coin toss who wins, but with a chance that Utah could just utterly destroy byu if they play well.

God, the SEC is terrible. Good thing LSU was able to steal one in Morgantown.

No doubt. I thought it would be;

UK
UF
ARKY
..

ugh
And it even seems like a significant drop from UF to Arky (it's also a significant drop from UK to UF, but that's mostly due to UK being an all-star team).

One of my buddies told me Mississippi State could be a sleeper this year.

1) UF has SUCKED
2) I actually take hat off to ISU more than believe Arky sucks.. we'll see.
3) U need to choose less dumber buddies.

Oh, I haven't followed UF at all. Haha that's funny.

Arkansas would be much better if they didn't press teams that can pass, dribble, and shoot. They gave up so many open shots. Portis is absolute money, but he's soft as **** and couldn't guard anyone in the NBA. Qualls is hyper athletic, has a solid shot, but needs a decent amount of space to get a good one off. He can jump really high tho, had a couple really impressive blocks.

Great summary. I didn't see the game, but agree. yeah.. most fans love a press, but they see a couple steals leading to a highlight reel but forget the 10 easy baskets they gave up to get them.
