I think this is an interesting topic for discussion on a board full of bright minds. I've gotta admit that I think Colin Cowherd is a pile of ****, and would probably say the world would be a better place if he was dead, but even people who are piles of **** have good ideas every now and then.

Potential upsets I would call in the first round are:
Lynyrd Skynyrd over The Jackson Five-- on the basis of *plane crash>f'd up family*
Black Sabbath over RHCP-- people are going to remember Sabbath in 30 years, probably not RHCP
Grateful Dead over NIN-- they're the grateful dead, bracket season is all about magic in the air... and nobody has more of an upper hand than GD

I think Dave Matthews Band is going to put up a good fight, but they got a terrible draw in Bon Jovi.

*I'm not making my picks based on any percentage basis already listed on the site, just having fun with the bracket. So trolls-- cease*

'Nice respect for The Killers...not sure why there in the "Cleveland" region....oh wait Las Vegas is just a couple hours south on I15 from Cleveland....................

Ya, I don't think he did it based on where the band was from. I think he took the four meccas of rock, and played on the bracket system of college basketball.
But nice try.

For the record, all the #1 seeds are from UK/Ireland.

Cowherd sucks.

He's a pencil neck punk that needs to have the crap beaten out of him.

Remember when he said that he deserved credit for the team up north beating the crap out of the rolling tide? He said that people like him gave the utes the extra motivation they needed to play the game of their lives....

K I went with:

Rolling Stones
Weezer
Pumpkins (homer pick)
The Police
The Cars
AC/DC
Lynard Skynard
Nirvana

Zepp
White Stripes
Rush
Metallica
Marley
Doors
Ramones
Soundgarden (upset pick)

U2... but this was easily the worst matchup
Clash
Bon Jovi... I take it back, this was the worst matchup
Boston (getting their *** kicked but I love Boston)
Sublime
Who
Grateful Dead
Floyd
Creed .... just kidding

Earth, Wind, Fire
Iron Maiden.. come on!
Hendrix baby
Sabbath.. wow talk about getting screwed. The Chili Peppers!???
GNR
Kiss
Tool, only cuz I like them

.... In case you were wondering

Alice in Chains not making over many of these bands is a joke, especially ****ing Creed. Or Living Colour, who while I like I can't think of any song other than Cult of Personality that they did off the top of my head. And on what planet is the Jackson Five a better rock band than CCR.

Well based on my tastes:

Rolling Stones
Motley Crue
Queen
Oasis
The Cars
AC/DC
Skynyrd
Nirvana

Led Zep
Allman Bros
Rush
Metallica
Beastie Boys
The Doors
Phish
Soundgarden

U2
The Clash
Bon Jovi
Aerosmith
Sublime (I'm a big fan of Sublime, but to say they are a top 25 rock band of all time is just absurd)
The Who
The Dead
Floyd

Beatles
Def Leppard
Jimi
Pearl Jam
Red Hot Chili Peppers
GNR
STP (another band AIC was far, far superior than)
Van Halen

Can't wait for his take on Pearl Jam vs STP in the semis.

AMEN on Alice in Chains (one of my all time favorites). WTF @ ELO & Creed & Parliament-Funkadelic (are they even considered hard rock in the same way Van Halen & Metallica would be?) Tool as a 15 is a shame too.

Also, pretty nice proof that modern sports are ****ing BORING if we have little pseudo-tournaments like this.

Welcome to the lull in between the end of the NFL & March Madness.

Well hardly anyone follows NCAA basketball closely anymore until the tournament because A) way too many teams to keep track of & B)90% have brand new players from last year.
