Hardy and his staff have found a niche for him as the guy putting pressure on the rim and being effective in pick & roll. Similar to every other guy on this roster he has flaws and is tradable if the right deal comes along.

The narrative around here that he just doesn't fit never made much sense. He's a big who shoots threes. Why wouldn't he fit?

Edit: Taking about Collins. I'm an idiot lol
 
A 61.6 TS% over an entire season would be 13th best in the entire league for guards and higher than guys like Luka and Lillard.
 
Despite playing so well in December Hardy still had him on a short leash and is fully prepared to give Keyonte as many minutes as possible the moment he shows positive signs on the court.

I think Keyonte eats into Dunn’s minutes more than Sexton’s.

This is correct, and confirmed by looking at December lineup data. George and Dunn have the least minutes together between the 4 guards currently in rotation (only 4.6 mpg in 4 games, so most games they havent shared the court at all) while Sexton has played more minutes per game with anyone but JC (5.6).

The top guard pair in minutes per game in December is Clarkson and George with 21.2 (only 5 games though due to injuries), followed by Sexton+THT (15.9) and Sexton+Dunn (15.1).
 
Sexton with an awesome game tonight. 22 points (9/14) and 10 assists.

Sexton’s stats as a starter this season:

21.7 PPG, 4.9 APG, 2.7 RPG on 50/35/90 shooting splits

61.9 TS% and only 1.9 TOPG

We are 10-4 with Sexton as a starter
 
It is easy to forget that Collin was 17/5 with 64% TS in less than 30 minutes per game as a starter last season. What he's doing now is more or less a continuation of what he did last year, but starting with Dunn has allowed him to take more of the scoring versus what he got with JC last year. Make no mistake though....Collin proving that last year was not a fluke is a huge step forward for him.

I actually think both Sexton and THT have had strong seasons. Dunn is also doing what he can with his ability level. JC is actually the player who has fallen off the most. Keyonte seems to be playing by default (which is good for his development), but he's definitely not a great player at this stage in his career.
 
It is crazy what a month does as far as viewing someone as a future piece. In November we were thinking of Sexton more so as a salary piece in a bigger trade. Now he is looking more like a long term keeper piece on a great contract. The best part about what I am seeing right now is that he is becoming a little less of a spaz on defense. The one thing people couldn't say about Sexton's defense in the past is that he wasn't trying. In fact a lot of the time it was the opposite and he was being overly aggressive which worked against him. I don't think he will ever be a great defensive guard because of his size but he is now trending to being solid on that end of the floor which is great.

In some ways Dunn is perfect next to Sexton because he can take on the more difficult defensive assignments and handle the ball without dominating it. The pairing seems to be working, so maybe we should be looking for a similar, but upgraded option vs Dunn.

I think Stephon Castle is a pretty ideal partner with both Sexton and Keyonte. He hasn't shot the 3 ball that well this year for UConn but he has a good shooting stroke and I think he will figure it out.
