Welcome to Colton's Mock Draft Compilation, v. 16.0. Here are who the mock drafts are listing as the "best players". See below for details. It should give a pretty good idea of who will be available when the Jazz pick.

Ranking details: I used the following mock drafts as "voters" for the best players. That is, I assumed they ranked the players in the order that they felt like the players deserved to be drafted. (This is an incorrect assumption, because some mock drafts account for perceived team need, but it should be close.) Then I used the "instant run-off voting" algorithm in a program I wrote to deduce who deserved to be ranked in the top spot, then in the second spot, then in the third spot, and so forth. See here for details on that algorithm: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting

Changes from v 15.0: SEVENTEEN of the TWENTY THREE I used this time were new or updated since my last compilation.

I will try to do one more compilation after this before the draft.

Misc observations:

* All mocks have Irving at #1
* All have Williams at #2
* 16 of the mocks have us picking Knight at #3; 7 have us picking Kanter at #3.
* The weird four-way tie at #9 in the last compilation is no longer, and Jimmer came out on the bottom (being now ranked 14 again as he was before).
* Tristan Thompson continues to win an award for most confusing... he ranges from pick #5 to UNDRAFTED (what the heck is the about.com guy thinking??).
* Marshon Brooks continues to win the other such prize... he ranges from pick #13 to #53.
* Chris Singleton is now most popular choice for the Jazz at #12-- 9 of the mocks have the Jazz picking Singleton. Jimmer is the second-favorite choice, with 5 of the mocks having him get the Jazz pick.
* Players with a reasonable chance to be available at #12 include: Bismack (7 mocks say he'll be there), Marcus Morris (7 mocks), Burks (9 mocks), Klay Thompson (11 mocks), Tristan Thompson (14 mocks), and everyone ranked below Tristan (18 mocks or more).

I have really enjoyed Colton's Mock Draft series.

Also, What on earth is AK doing in your avatar?

I see him performing a Michael Bolton ballad.

I think he had just gotten hit by an opposing player, but honestly it's been my avatar for so long now I don't even remember where I got it from. Guess if he's not with the Jazz next year I'll have to find another one.

The only thing I'm sure of is that the Jazz will do someting in this draft that no one has even speculated about...

If Jimmer is still there at 12, which he is sure to be.....the Jazz will draft him, keep him or trade him to the Knicks for half their roster! You know it, I know it....and now the American public know it!

The only thing is, Jimmer is worth more than half their roster... name one guy on the knicks other than Carmello, Stat, Billups, and Landry Fields... I can't.

I just looked at the roster on ESPN and I still can't remember anyone else on the Knicks...

I want Kanter bad, but if we've settled on getting Knight... I think we could trade the 3 to Wiz kids for 6 and 18, so they can take Kanter... Cleveland and Toronto aren't interested in drafting a PG, so I don't think it's a high risk trade unless they want to screw us. So we might as well build the back end of our roster and get that 18 to tag a Markief Morris, Montejunas, Selby...
